Depends what category landing you’re doing, but the default plane can only do a normal cat 1 landing. Yes, with cat 1, you need to disengage AP a few hundred feet above, let the plane drift down, raise the nose slightly at around 30-40ft and idle the throttle at around 20ft, or when the plane calls out RETARD. Back wheels down, drop nose gently and engage reverse thrust. Disengage at 80mph.@Zeeflyboy @robfosters
Cheers both. Just completed a cold start ILS flight, gate to gate from Gatwick to Heathrow. Altitude now checks in and AP follows.
On the approach to landing do you let it do it's own thing or disable AP and lift nose at the end?
I hope they fix the ATC. It doesn’t know what altitude you’re at and is always telling me to climb even though I’m at the FL they instructed.464mb update via the MS Store; assume this is the hotfix?

RELEASE NOTES 1.18.15.0
If you are playing on PC, some packages in your community folder may not have been updated and, as a result, may have an unexpected impact on the title’s performance and behavior.
Please move your community package(s) to another folder before relaunching the title if you suffer from stability issues or long loading times.
Known Issue
- Fixed ground level of detail (low resolution) when flying at airliner altitudes
- Fixed “washed out / oil painted” clouds and the overall luminosity under cloud coverage
- Fixed missing volumetric lights
- Fixed abnormal temperature spikes over airports when the Metar data was not updating often enough
- Aligned pressure altitude simvar and pitot static altitude calculations to prevent wrong altitude information for external Live ATC services
- GPU stats are now displayed in the debug window when the dev mode is activated on PC
- Disabled aggressive compilation optimization for WASM (signed-zeroes, NoInf and NoNaN but keep fast-math)
- In-sim ATC service radar can still report incorrect altitude (fix expected in world Update 6)
When you say empty community folder, can I just pop the folder contents into a temp folder to hold them, then once installation is done, move the files back into the community folder?Downloaded hotfix after some messing around getting it to download, then got stuck on checking for update.
However after emptying community folder and restarting it loaded fine and I hopped in for a quick look, all seems fine my end.
All you need to to to take out your old community folder is rename it. MSFS2020 will create a blank new one when it starts. When you say empty community folder, can I just pop the folder contents into a temp folder to hold them, then once installation is done, move the files back into the community folder?
I hope they fix the ATC. It doesn’t know what altitude you’re at and is always telling me to climb even though I’m at the FL they instructed.
Might be that they haven’t added sufficient LODs as per the SU5 update yet… it changed the rules around how LODs are displayed.
I like the sound of it, but I’d rather a single full UK mod.
