**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

Yeah my installation is borked. It says I've got 3.68GB left and it just sits doing nothing. Closing the game down a few times eventually got me into the actual game, I setup my settings, but I couldn’t do much in the game. The tutorial screen was all greyed out, and the main flight map wouldn’t let me launch the game after setting a departure airport in a Cessna 172. There doesn’t appear to be an option for a repair of the client either. The repair in Windows just repairs the 1GB updater, not the actual game itself.
 
I figured it out now - it doesn't help that my Thrustmaster controls are all different mappings by default.

Also - may have just found my actual car in the game... same colour, in my parking space, outside my house... scary.

Apart from the placement of the aircraft, that is extremely impressive for a generic airport! Looks amazing - thanks again and happy flying!
 
Just removed the Beta install from my PC as it no longer works :p

Will fire up my PC tomorrow morning and let it download (Steam purchased) during the day and have a play tomorrow night.

It sure is going to be weird playing it without my gamertag all over the screen.

No thing particularly to contribute to this post apart from that my spec is basically identical to this!
 
Actually quite impressed at how well it runs on my system. Bit stuttery at times when it's loading stuff but very playable which is a lot more than I was expecting :)

What spec have you got - I'm on an I5 6600k, 16gb ram and a 1070..... likely looking at 1080p and low settings?
 
2500k @ 4.6ghz, 980ti and 16gb ram. It defaulted to high for me but have knocked it down to medium, will test low later.
 
Just found about the change of region to get it to download....... 85gb to go even at 77mbps its taking a long time, i have a spare 16gb to make a total of 32gb, worth it?
