**** Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Thread ****

Feeling a slight sense of dismay reading the reports of poor performance, thinking my I7 4770 and GTX 1650 will need to be running at settings more akin to the FS4 style display on the cockpit CDU's. Steam version here, so guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Its all a bit mixed, don't lose hope too soon.

Flightdeck2sim is currently streaming just fine and he has a i7 7700k, a 1080 (not ti) and 32 Gb RAM and seems to be ok.

I'm going to be running at 1080p with an i7 4790 and a 1080ti at whatever settings I can get away with. Some of the review videos I have watched have suggested 32GB Ram is close to necessary so I might need an upgrade...

Well I got 24Gb with one spare slot so might get another 8Gb to bring up to 32Gb.

Otherwise it's going to be a new box as my mobo can't take a higher CPU and anything more than a 1650 GPU will be throttled.

It's not poor perf, it's just pushing current hardware to the limits, or you need to be humble and knock down the settings

edit: it's using slightly more than 16GB with windows whatever going on in background, you should be fine with 24GB, mine reports 16.7GB usage for instance

I'm beginning to wonder if this might have been rushed out before all the optimisation was done. Beta period of well under a month. Guess we now become the beta testers!

Still looking forward to it, but kind of glad now I didn't splash £110 for the Premium Deluxe version.

Imo you definitely need 32gb ram.

And one of these

I've less than 1GB to go until I can play, running a Xeon equivalent to the 4770 with a Vega 56 so I'll let you know what performance is like.

Loading in now, 2500k @4.6ghz, 980ti and 16gb ram, it decided medium settings for me which I think is optimistic in the extreme, about to find out...

91GB update currently underway, it's taking a while as it decrypts and all that stuff as it downloads. Damn hoped I'd get in there early too lol.

I think performance wise I should be fine (6700K 4.4, 2070S, 16GB).
