*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

It's going to happen to a LOT of Wii U physical discs imo.

Soon as Nintendo announce they are stopping manufacturing Wii U units - you watch - the price of the made but not sold consoles will rocket and so will the residual value of all physical discs.

The whole Amiibo thing is a stark reminder that the world just loves collecting Nintendo.

True, my retail versions of Xenoblade Chronicles, Last Story and Pandora's Tower are worth a lot more than I paid for. Last Story Limited Edition cost me £17.99 on sale and look at the price now:eek:

Finally got Kirby Wii Adventure for £16 last week, after the stupid prices it used to cost on ebay. Thank virtual console for bringing reasonable prices back to SOME Nintendo games.

Amiboo is stupid but i want to play Zelda HD for the Wii U either when they price drop the unit or announce the NX will play them (Like Wii) so i would need to buy physical disk copies of the following now to avoid paying £70? I know nowhere to rent them i was actually in the train of thought that you would buy one and complete and then trade for the next.

Twilight princess HD
Windwaker HD
Zelda Majoras Mask HD (?)

No-one really knows if NX will offer backwards compatibility - or whether somehow digital Nintendo Network accounts might migrate over to NX, or whether cloud gaming might be on offer - there's so many possibilities. The situation is hard to predict because a) Nintendo can be a bit random and b) Nintendo almost always offering backwards compatibility.

I wouldn't wait for a console price crash - I just don't see it happening, Nintendo are super stubborn over the console price, if they've resisted temptation to crash the price over this last year or so they're probably going to remain stubborn to the last.

Retailers however might start to worry about not being able to shift the units they have on the shelves when talk of NX starts to pick up stream, suppose they could start to panic later in the year. That's possible, I suppose, although I'm not sure how many retailers have warehouses full to the brim of Wii U's right now.

TP HD will likely be available digital download, WW is already - so the disc prices should remain reasonably sensible.

I expect that the Wolf Link amiibo will also be sold separately (hopefully).

A new dungeon though?, if true my interest in TP:HD has intensified!. I'll wait for all the final details on the game before deciding but it's Zelda so Nintendo will prob have my monies again :o.

Temple of Time in TP was the worst zelda dungeon ever.

Definitely one of my least favourite too, but not sure I could call it the definitively worst dungeon in the whole series.
I could see them adjusting Temple of Time for HD to cut down the backtracking abit, maybe hopefully.

Fortunately, TP also has some of the best dungeons.

I haven't touched Mario Maker in months. I enjoy Mario games but i'm not that creative when it comes to level design. Also all the other levels made by players are either dumb/awful/nigh on impossible. I'm sure others will disagree though.

quick edit to say maybe not all levels are junk but you may only find 1 or 2 good levels out of hundreds of rubbish ones.

Same happened with little big planet, though that game had more problems :D wish there was a demo, not got major nostalgia for old mario so it may be lost on me altogether

If you're not sure it's for you, then it probably isn't ...

but if you're the type to get excited when new high-budget 2D platformers are announced, then SMM is like heaven :).

The bookmark tool (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/) has made it much easier to find good courses.

I usually search for:

Difficulty: "Expert" (note: 'Super Expert' is the hardest)
Tag: "Traditional"
Sort By: "Star Rate"

I find many good courses this way, I just played this one for example and it was great. I could tell from the preview image that it was probably good. Also, when you find a good course it's worth checking out the creators other uploaded courses too.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is out today on the Nintendo E-shop.

Bankers that it's not on the 3DS but I'll take it on any platform and be happy. £6.29, somewhat steep for a 2003 game.
