Premature maybe, but after the success of yesterday, and everyone liking the route we chose, i want to get another one planned well in advance and while the weather will still be good. (hopefully)

I'm thinking 5th September (Sat)

Route will be the same as the last one.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&s...9735,-0.745697&spn=0.308598,0.892639&t=h&z=11

1. 11.00am Meet at Lion Inn - Blakey ridge, North Yorkshire YO62 7LQ, talk, take photos, and eat at 12-12.30. After lunch, passenger rides and more photos and stuff.
Website: http://www.lionblakey.co.uk/

2. Head off to Pickering (or the village just past where we stopped (Thornton le Dale)), nice enclosed car park and nice backdrop for more photos etc, plus pee break :D

3. The car park at the top of Goathland, the road there is really good, really long stretch of straight road with a few challenging corners, http://www.duperouzel.co.uk/misc/meets/nm0609/ek9.wmv, (onboard Tims car (EK9 Type R) I hope you don't mind Dup). And theres a great spectators view of the same road.

4. After this, we head to Whitby (which should be a little quieter at this end of summer).

5. Sandsend, nice bit of coastal road with a gravel carpark for fun :D (you know who i mean :P)

6. Dinner break at Hinderwell, the food is cheap but good here, home made chunky chips, to which i believe someone said they MUST eat here in the last meets' photo thread. (i'll link to it if i remember).

7. Final stop will be Saltburn at the top of the cliff for some final photos and to say goodbye etc.

Yes, it's pretty much a carbon copy of 6th June, but as they say, if it aint broke, don't fix it, everyone who came will back me up that there's a great mix of fantastic roads, scenery and food, the route is about 56 miles long with stops between 5 miles and 15 miles apart and it's a great day out.

Lets make this even more successful than the last one :)

Stolen from peterattheboro from 6th June.

I'm coming to this but if people start driving like idiots then i'm going home. Don't want a repeat of Sunday.

I've felt myself pushing myself over my boundaries also but not anymore :) :)

that won't happen again and you know it, that was pure bad luck which is why i've decided not to pull this one, we're all grown up and we should all know our limits. These meets are all about meeting like-minded people, whatever you drive. Everyone is invited. I certainly won't be driving like a dick, you don't need to drive too fast to get a decent photo, and besides, drive too fast and you'll miss the fantastic scenery that the North Yorkshire Moors has to offer ;).

Put me down as a maybe please :)

I wanted to come to the last one but I couldn't make it. As long as I get some work done to my new car first, I will probably come.

I won't say what car just yet as I am hoping to do a thread about it soon :D

i read what car you were after ;)

but yes, i'll stick you down as a maybe, btw, this is 4 weeks away now, i'll need to think about final numbers in about 2 weeks so i can book the table, so can i have your definites before say 25th August.

thanks

Just spotted this thread, wouldnt have dared come along with the Skoda I dont think, but put me down as a maybe now that I've got the Merc - It'll still get badly shown up, but I know some of the roads in that area are well sweet, and not driven up there for ages.

Probably Saturday, but g/f's birthday is on the 8th Sept, and not 100% sure when her party is scheduled for, but its not too far back from Yorkshire to Durham!

it was decided it was to be on the sunday, you still want to be put on the maybe list?

I live in thornton dale about 5 minute walk from the carpark.

I dont think my citreon berlingo is eye catching enough to come long though, hehe

if you want to come along in a Citroen Berlingo, you are as welcome as anyone else, it's not just about the cars, it's about sharing an interest, i.e Motors and it's always nice to get a look at other peoples cars. Also, living in that area, you may have an advantage in knowing the area better than i do :)

You can change your mind if you like ;)
