****Official Nvidia Refurb Thread****

I think i'll give it a miss now and wait for the new cards to materialise. No 480 or 570 refurbs left, phoned shop earlier and was told it's unlikely they'll be getting anymore in.

I really thought i'd bagged one though as I ordered when stock levels were still high, bloody annoying tbh. Doesn't matter about the waterblock, i'll just send it back.

Buying a 75 quid water block for a 480 is a waste of money.

That makes your 480 expensive lol

Not when I thought I was getting a 480 for 159.99, I'd budgeted around £250 for a card so even with the block it was well within budget.

No way i'm putting a leaf blower in a watercooled pc anyway, i've always watercooled my gpu's, yeah the full cover blocks are expensive but you get reduced noise, better temps and higher clocks. I thought you watercooled aswell easy.

I do but only CPU at the min. I totally understand where you are coming from m8 but for me £250 on a 480 watercooled is too much at this time what with 28nm so close etc..

Regarding the recent vid card comparisons posted, even on an 'old' system (3.2GHz e6850 processor) where there's fears of being bottlenecked by the rest of the components, jumping from a beefy (for its time) 8800GTX to a GTX 460 was a significant and noticable jump, as that's exactly what I'd done around last Nov/Dec or so.

'At the time I placed the order the gtx 480 was showing stock level of 10+ units. It's taken them until today to let me know I won't be receiving a card. I really feel like i've been shafted by oc'uk here, someone else on the forum ordered when stock level was 3 units but it seems he is receiving a card!'

This happened to me recently as well with a different graphics card, held up my order, didn't tell me there was a problem, I contacted them to be told no graphics card and it was a 'mistake'. Was not amused I can tell you. Unlike Ocuk to be fair.:)

Any idea of when you will get the 580 referbs back? :(

I've spoken with Phil from oc'uk a couple of times over the last couple of days, and although he hasn't given a definite no to your question, he seems to think it unlikely they'll be getting any more refurbs in. Missed out here too mate!:(

Might be a blessing in disguise though, as paying big money on a 580 (even the refurbs were 300 quid) now might be a bad move as the new ATI cards are due very soon. Fingers crossed they do get more refurbs in though!:D
