Just logged in to see I've lost another sodding game on time. That's four games lost on time in a row now. Irked is most definitely the word!

Dropped right down to 1300. :/
 
I gave up after a couple of weeks. :(

Just can't seem to find a time where I'm in the right frame of mind to play. Really should start again, in fact, I shall have a go now.
 
We should start have some more tournaments we have a lot of very good players now - could even do some themed ones. Although I am lost as to what opening people would like to explore. I won't suggest the Polish as I think people practice that enough when they play me anyway. :D

Good idea! Nix suggested the Nimzo-Indian on the Chess.com forums which is also a good idea. I love the Hippopotamus you can beat Kasparov Chess on the DS quite easily by using that as black or white I found out last month! It never seems to know what you are doing until it is too late.
 
Can you guys check out how I'm doing against that 1900~ rated fella? He's playing really oddly, it's hard to imagine he was rated nearly 2000.

Well it's an even game from the looks of it really. You fork his queen and rook he moves the queen you take the rook he takes your horsey you move your rook up the D file to attack his rook (as your queen will give protection) if he takes the rook you retake and check at the same time. Seems kind of close and maybe will be a draw. Might be more there but that is how I see it. Just because he is over 1900 don't mean he is that good I am generally over 1900 but that is by virtue of games played rather than beating good opponents if that makes any sense - you can get to 1900 in one game by getting a rating of +700 for your win or you can do it my way and just win 700 +1's :D

Edit: looking at his record he don't beat people over 1600 in the main. So spank his ***!
 
This is why Elbot needs to make a reappearance he had some nifty software that would play it all through for you and tell you what the outcome was with a remarkable degree of accuracy.
 
From the top of my head, he will move his queen somewhere, and I was looking at putting my queen on row 2 to double attack the rook and push for a checkmate or lose the queen or something. I hate that chess.com is blocked at work :(

If you move like I said above: fork then attack his rook you should have enough of an edge to get a win maybe and to be honest after the fork there is little best move variation for a little but from what I can see.
