Please take this in the spirit intended, which is constuctive criticism, and not negative, as it will undoubtedly appear negative at first glance:
kenofstephen, put the same type of ancillary contents package in the box, that Gigabyte, Asus, etc do.
You aren't going to win friends if customers have to spend out on extra cables, which then puts your board very much the wrong side of the competition, pricewise.
The P31 board is about £2.50 cheaper than the Gigabyte at OcUK, an extra SATA cable (getting to be pretty essential) retail costs £5.86, for example.
Retail, I can get Abit, MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte (all strong, well known brand names) P35 chipset boards for LESS than the OcUK Value IP35 Pro.
I've been building PC's for a very long time, and am always keen to look at and support new products of high quality at a good price with good customer service.
I started using Gigabyte boards when they first appeared on the market, because they oozed quality, were solidly reliable, and were a very substantial saving compared to any alternative. I've sold 1,000's in systems over the years from word of mouth recommendation and repeat business (never advertised, never had to), and my customers have had outstanding service from them (basically once they leave me, only lightning strikes and retirement seem to put them out of action). Equally important, my support calls are so close to zero as really doesn't matter, which has saved ME many £1,000's of pounds a year due to absence of expensive callouts.
I should mention I'm pretty much retired from it all now, and only do a few custom builds a year for old friends, to keep my hand in and my brain active.
As Dreadi said: "having read this thread i'm not sure what to do. Go for the this ocuk board or get a gigabyte ds3l ???"
As demonstrated, buying your boards is a gamble for people right now, a roll of the dice, a risk. You need to transform that into a rock solid certainty ASAP, and get OcUK to put the existing stock ancillary kits up to scratch, as well as any stock in transit that might be deficient.
I wish you all the best in your endeavours, and hope you can become another Gigabyte. I might even buy a IP35 Pro later in the week to tinker with, with an E21**/22** (though to be honest the one I would like to really have a look at soon, is your G35 mATX).
