I'd like to think that he put out a massive thank you to the modding community (not just Bukkit, hey0, etc, but all the individual modders). Without that community the game would be a pale shadow of what it is right now.
 
As toString has said, it's unfortunately the way it goes with Bukkit updates. There's a lot of work involved with porting Bukkit to the latest version of Minecraft and so there's almost always a delay of a few days (sometimes more) before Bukkit works with MC.
 
More specifically, we are waiting for a bukkit recommended build to be released as certain plugins (understandably) do not support non-RB builds. Spout has already been mentioned as one that is fairly vital.
 
Pretty sure the Bukkit guys are working their arses off, as usual :) There have been several more dev builds released but as yet no RB. I'm checking several times a day so hopefully when the RB is out there shouldn't be too much delay in me getting the server updated.
 
Sadly not, for the same reasons as before:

* Spout and other plugins not working.
* Lots of NPEs (null pointer exceptions) which could cause lag and server crashing.
* Corruption of maps (show stopper).
