The most common occurrence that the server will detect you are flying outside of actually doing it will be in The End where you can easily fall into the void. One the normal map this can only really occur when a chunk refuses to load and is much less common these days, can't say I've noticed it occur from a fall from height though.

I saw this happen some time ago so it's quite possible that it doesn't happen any more.

Best thing to do is to have a look around the area to see if it is signposted in any way. Try asking on the server also as not all players read the forums here.

I was kicked for flying when a world hole decided to eat me up, logs mean it's rather difficult to prove they're actually flying. Maybe if it's about fifty times in a month or so, then have an admin or something tp to them every so often?

It doesn't need to be as frequent as fifty times per month. There's usually an obvious difference between flying and having a rare issue.

What I don't understand is why people don't think "oh, I'd better stop flying" as soon as they are kicked the first time. You would think that it might set alarm bells ringing in their head.
