*** Official OcUK Minecraft Server - Discussion and Rules ***

I've made a minor tweak now that should take effect next restart. Basically increasing the likelihood of the food animals spawning to 150% current value and reducing the likelihood of a few of the other creatures by about 50%. I have also tweaked creeper spawns down very slightly - by about 20%.

So in this version of the server, if someone kills all the food animals around spawn like on the last server. The food animals can respawn by themself, without admin intervention?

yes mo creatures uses the old spawning system of minecraft much better imo for multiplayer server. Sadly downside of this is unable to create cattle farms unless enable the option to disable despawning default creatures because mobs will despawn like they used to ofc for wool you can make flax farms and use the old methods of cattle farming for meat ect instead of breeding. If you like animal breeding mo-creatures has about 6 different animals you can bread.

Also has an option to make the default animals spawn like in current default minecraft spawning system.

The way mo creatures works is the addon mobs get priority of spawning over default ones unless you change the spawn rate of the default mobs this will explain the lack of default animals.

Goats can be tamed and milked
deer drop pork
boars drop pork
some of the fish drop fish and can be tamed
bears drop fish

As you can see even with new mobs you have food options that make up for despawning vanilla mobs

It has been mentioned a few times I think (perhaps on here or in game), but there don't appear to be that many about. I've struggled for food since the server started and I have now run out. On full health I traveled across several biomes looking for mobs and didn't see any at all. I'm now down to no hearts and 2 health. Perhaps it is just bad luck, but there does appear to be fewer around (knock-on from the extra mobs in the mod we're using??).

Molinari, look for me next time you are on and I will sort you out with plenty of food, tried to catch you tonight but I was afk for a while and missed you.

Suggestion with amount of quarrys ect people are running is it possible to have an unstable land section of the map or going to get very messy in places.

If people use quarrys, they should also consider using a 'Filler' to fill the holes in after the quarry has finished.

Gets rig of all the dirt , cobble etc that might not be wanted from the dig.

No idea. I took the old one out, and it hasn't crashed since. I think the vrm's are overheating. The warranty is also out on it :(

I have a water cooled system and a fnaless GF
i discovered what that does to a system :P

I would suggest getting a PC fan a lot of cases have a front or extra back
section for putting in another small fan. They are normaly about 5/6 euro so
about4/5 pounds. your mobo should have extra pins for aux fans too if not make sure you get one with a molex connection as it will then connect to your PSU directly.

The extra fan make sure air flow is better. also another thing to do is try and keep vabels bunched in one location. For me it was easy as my case Motherboard side has holes to put cables through.

The main thing is Air Flow is key here. you need to try and create a wirlpool
effect inside yur case with a outlet to the front or back. I build many system a day and that is one of the first things i make sure is ok. If you wish take a pic of the inside of your case and i can advise you as to how to increase the flow of air without an increase of noise.

i believe there was talk on this already and the suggestion was to have player cover the top at least to remove the ugleness of the holes.

For me it is not an issue as i make my quaries underground :D
that way i keep the natural look of the mountains and hills ;)

all it take is for a miner to be concederat to the look of the srounding :D

Sorry everyone. I went to bed the instant I kicked and banned those guys. I've posted the info in the admin forum now so hopefully yrth will be able to login during the day.

I approve of this idea. I think we will draw up some guidelines soon and add them to the rules.

From now on if people destroy my wall or build a step outside it to get in if they jump down and don't remove/fill it, I'm going to start reporting for greifing. :)

Had about 4 creeper explosions yesterday that destroyed a lot of stuff, all because of people bypassing the wall around my house.

Reactor seems to be working nicely now :) might make another the exact same next to it today. Going to stick with my current mk1 for now as they don't have to be maintained, just a constant flow of good power :)

I guess the real test of what effect these mods have had will be how long people play for after reaching the top of the new crafting tree. The most successful server in my opinion is vanilla, but by 'successful' i don't mean number of players, or builds. I mean the quality of the community that is consistently enjoyable to watch people have fun on. I just wonder if the mods will replace the blank canvas 'sandbox' aspect of the game with an objective based play style. Which as i see it would severely limit the playtime anyone could get from it.

Will certainly be interesting to see.

I agree with you in principle that it is a concern/point of interest.

However, people had stopped playing on the server until we relaunched it with these mods. As it was there was becoming less and less point to leave it running but now we've got a new lease of life.

Who knows, if people get bored maybe we'll relaunch the server as a vanilla server in 6 months - vanilla seeming fresh and different at that point.

I'd disagree, the game even as a vanilla game still has a feeling of being somewhat objective based...and that was to gather resources. Then use those resources building things, rinse repeat. The mods just give us a LOT more scope for what to use those resources for as well as some easier ways to gather them.

To be honest I'd be more inclined to go play single player if the server started yet again in 6 months for any reason other than an update requiring new features or mods, it's frustrating losing all your stuff and hard work to a fresh start, even if like me you hadn't played in ages.
