The main mods that add most of the new features via Tekkit are IndustrialCraft2, BuildCraft and RedPower2, then theres afew others such as ComputerCraft etc. You can find most of the crafts on here http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/The_Tekkit_Wiki

Other than that and there own wikis you can search for the mods on youtube and find lots of guides and ideas on there, just search for the mod and/or the items your interested in using.

Think I'll do as Sun suggests and just act like it's vanilla for now as I gather resources again :)

I see the old world teleporter is down? Any idea when it'll be back up?

Also - Still stuck in that other endermen world :p
 
How close to spawn are we allowed to build? I've marked out an area not far to the north that I'd like to claim, could someone let me know if it's ok?

Looking for some advice guys, I really want to try Minecraft but this I think is purely based on Yogscast Youtube videos, I have a friend interested too and he'd pretty much play along with me. Think I'm just blinded by their awesome videos? I've never played anything like this before so I'm not sure :p and it's 16quid. Hmmm, should I?
 
You'll all be glad to know that Ginge, Maxi and Saf were sent home from mine/trixi's house safely, kidneys intact.

I'll get them next time. omnomnom kidneys...
 
Does anyone know why I will randomly encounter an area where my FPS drops to < 5? I could have been in that area 5 seconds before, and when I come back to it, I get a mad fps drop. Restarting MC solves it.

Not had that issue, and I've had just about every lag issue going this month!

A few times I have had it literally freeze to 0, unable to move, for about 2 seconds and then its fine again.

I had that problem before upgrading my system specs. Are you using a texture pack if so try a lower resolution one.

Railcraft changes the recipie are u using that one

32x32 texture pack, faithful32. I'm on an i5, geforce 470. Usually get 60+ fps, then there's these weird areas that randomly drop it to 5fps or so.
 
I'm sure this has been asked many times before... so I apologise in advance...

But do we know when we'll have access to the old world again?

I think I'll be better off waiting until I can get my resources over to the new world before I start playing again (That is assuming you can bring resources to and forth?)
