*** Official OcUK Minecraft Server - Discussion and Rules ***

You building ANOTHER stadium Sun? I'm tempted to pop on just to see it!

What else would I build? :D If you do want to see it you'll have to pop on when I am online because I'm leaving my home private until it is finished.

Sun how do you get an isometric view on the map? Like above.

There is a pop out menu at the right hand side, select the green cube under 'LinkTart'.

Ender Chest Fix

A client-side config change will fix Ender Chests for players. There are however a few issues with protection of items in these chests and as such be sure to read the notes below.

HOW TO FIX

1) Navigate to:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\tekkit\config

2) Open:

EnderStorage.cfg

3) Change:

block.id = 178

4) To:

block.id = 251

5) Save the file and start the Tekkit launcher.

CAVEATS

Ender Chests allow you to access the item store anywhere in any world on the server.

Ender Chests use a colour encoding mechanism to identify which chest 'space' opening it accesses.

Ender Chests CANNOT BE PROTECTED and as such are NOT safe to be used for storage. They should only be used as a Teleportation Pipe replacement and even then players should be aware that it is possible that items can be removed from the chests and it may be very difficult to track down who the culprit is.

Anyone else noticed what an absolute pain in the ass it is to make simple tracks now? The railcraft mod makes it extremely lengthy and costly to build them :confused:

hopefully this is the right place to post but feel free to redirect me somewhere else if it isnt. :)
(i posted here because there seems to be quite a few people who know a good amount about modding minecraft)

does anyone know a quick way of listing block IDs and item IDs that are available?

the reason i'm asking is that i've just taken my virtual stabilisers off and moved on from technic to MultiMC with my own set of mods. everything seems to be working fine with Direwolf20's config files and mod selection from his letsplay season 4 but i'd like to add my own mods.

i know how to add the mods but i'd be a bit stuck if i found a block ID conflict. I can alter block IDs in the config files quite happily but i have no idea how to get a list of free ID's without writing down every single block ID thats being used, meaning my best option for adding new mods is pot luck with the block IDs and item IDs, so if anyone can tell me a quick way of finding out which IDs are free i'd be most grateful

Ender chests arent player specific?
nope, but if you have trustworthy people on the server then i would get every player to pick a separate colour and use that as their first dye, possibly leaving one colour for shared enderchests or setting the first two colours for each player if you run out of colours

http://mcportcentral.co.za/wiki/index.php?title=Data_values I use this for finding conflicts for most of the tech mods.

thanks for that. i'm not sure how helpful its going to be with Direwolf20's config file and the 4096 block ID fix from forge but i'll see what i can do.

seeing how few block IDs are being used by the big mods makes me think that even picking a random number for the IDs will give me a pretty high chance of a free slot

You can only make 16 different colours though? we have a lot more than 16 players? ;)

in that case go for my other suggestion of setting the first two colours for each player, possibly giving each player more than one combination if needed. that would let you have up to 256 players with 16 chests each

Man, i quit this game. I just died by a random spawning monster and completely lost everything I had. I dig down to death point and it's all gone. Disappeared. I really can't be bothered spending more days and hours getting all my stuff back. I hate this game.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Well that's a shame. I find that using chests to store stuff whilst mining, means my loses are minimal if (usually when) I die. You should give it one more chance though!

What could you possibly have lost that doesn't take more than five minutes to get back? Mobs will never kill you if you have nano armour, and that's easy to make.

Why were you carrying all your stuff on you? Most equipment you should be carrying on you with the exception of quantum armour shouldn't take long to replace. If you had lots of important machines and such in your inventory, well you shouldn't carry valuable and time consuming to make stuff while digging down to random unexplored places.
