*** Official OcUK Minecraft Server - Discussion and Rules ***

Wasn't there some mod some people were using on here to copy a chunk from the server to a local map to play in single player? Why can't people do that if they want to save builds for posterity reasons?
 
I don't think anyone has to worry about a map reset anytime soon. I can't confirm this as we have no idea what 1.8 and bukkit is going to be like yet. But as I've said many of times my best guess is when 1.8 comes around we will have a 1.8 map as the default map, then the current map will be called the old map where it will be accessible via portals. Much the same as how multiworld works on our server now (creative world etc).

Items will be staying also with them most likely being transferable between worlds, unless there are some limitations. I'm also guessing that the 1.8 world with have more of a chance of getting reset for 1.9 or other updates as players will demand the latest build, again I don't think anyone has any ideas about this yet as we have no idea what 1.9 will bring.

Because only recently have I decided that this kind of posting does anything other than fill this thread with spam. And if I went back before I made said decision and criticized them, well, then that's a bit stupid as people will learn from just a few posts. And if you criticize me for THAT, then ignore what scrlk said about teenage mood swings, which while are perfectly possible, the same with PMS.. well. I have nothing to say about that if you do.

Notch/Mojang has already stated that 1.8 is the last content patch. The rest will be bug fixes etc. If you want, I can find where he said this for you.

True and it looks like they are beginning to invest time into other projects however Notch being Notch I wouldn't be surprised if he made more content patches!

I love all your biome ideas! :D There's no time to finish them for 1.8, but I'll do as much as I can for 1.9.

Well this tweet from today, makes me think 1.9 is going to have some content too :p Then probably even more added to version 2.0 (retail) come November like bosses, which might need new dungeons spawning. Along with that Jeb stated he wants to make more expansive villages with more buildings.

NPCs in Villages.
Boss Mobs in Strongholds.

Quite a lot on the list for 1.9 already, considering we're still on 1.7.

Scrlk's remark wasn't a reaction to another post, yours was. toString simply told you that they were talking about whatever and you reacted badly because you have 'now decided' that non server related chat shouldn't be discussed in this thread.

Anyway, I'm out of this discussion now. The whole reason I replied to you is because I am sick of reading posts in this thread where people are moaning and whining or quitting because it's not going their way and am now borderline doing it myself in this discussion with you.

And I decided for myself, not for others. Trying to paint me as the big bad egotistical selfish bad guy isn't a very mature thing to do. I shall point it out now, that is all I decided, I decided that I preferred it's not for this thread - however these are my decisions, not the servers or yours.
 
Can we lose the petty bickering please? It's a pain to have to trawl through to find the 'real' posts in this thread.

He was referring to your post yes, but he wasn't retorting to another post in anger like you were. He made a statement of why you may have reacted badly. I am not painting you at all, I initially replied to your childish remark and you replied, so I replied again. I was purely trying to make you understand someone else's point of view. If you have decided for yourself and not others, then WHY did you feel the need to point out about the guys non-related post, if its YOUR decision and NOT the server or anyone else's choice why are YOU trying to impose YOUR decision on others??

You are contradicting yourself majorly here and to be fair, with the amount of 'I decided/my decision' remarks in your post, you are doing a good enough job of making yourself look like the egotistical selfish guy without my help.

And yes, I am bored of it too, which is why I replied to the comment that caused this in the first place, its tedious having to read moaning and whinging to get the stuff that is actually interesting.

I really am not going to talk about this anymore.
