I love the general response to when someone posts something off-topic in this thread and I simply point it out. And Tostring, that attitude is just horrendous. "Because I can." Really? Really now? You're supposed to be older than me, yet you're using an excuse every child in my school thinks is a stupid, arrogant remark. When someone points something out that has zero relation to the server, when there is a official minecraft thread not far down, then they shouldn't be attacked, and whether or not it's a response to something, it's wrong, and more to the point, should not be criticized. If you truthfully believe it is fine, then you yourself need to become more accustomed to forums in general, as on most forums, posting off-topic is against the rules, and for good reason.

If you want to discuss something related to minecraft, but not really about the server, go to Minecraft Online Lego. If you want to discuss the server and things related to the server, use this thread. Honestly, it's not that hard, is it?

In other news: I have started construction on my first dungeon fur, come online tomorrow and I should be online too, we can get started at last!

Im with 2string this maybe a minecraft server thread. But tbh I would rather talk to people about anything minecraft related in this thread (due to the server being a community) not just server related and see no problem with this.

I will continue to post/talk about minecraft related things in this thread and the only people that would stop me are the admins.

As a complete guess I would think you just the blocks (there's 3 textures as I'm sure you know!) so maybe you can collect them up and make a bigger mushroom? Bit lame but I still like them.
Unless you can put the blocks in a crafting window and make lots of small ones..?

@m0linari you may have your opinion but i hope it is not the general opinion of those that do donate to the server.

As far as i am concerned as a donater i do NOT have a louder voice to those that dont. We are a community and that is how this should be seen. At the end of the day I believe there will have to be a map reset at some stage.

As a player that donates and has one of the Mega builds i would hate to loose all that but i am also open minded enough to realise i will loose it eventually.

@ Mr_Moose. I am sorry to disagree the choice is not FT and FT's alone. This is a community server. Yes FT runs and manages it. But as FT has said himself. This is a community server and the community make many of the choices.

I agree however that 2 maps would be problematic one from an admin point and second from a plug-in point. I think between the Admin's and the comunity we can work on some sort of compromise to lessen the blow to the players that have invested a lot of time in their builds.

An alternative, and probably more popular idea is to have a fresh 1.8 world and then have the admins (and by that I mean mostly FT) support and maintain a multiverse type plugin that contains this current world as an 'addon' world that you can travel to.
That way when someone new joins the server they're instantly in the new fancy 1.8 world, and people who want to continue their 'epic builds' can just go through a portal to it.

I am sure when 1.8 part 2 comes out there will be more for the map and we wont have that then for the current map wipe. There will always be a need to reset the map as the mojang team have not come up with a way to introduce their map changes to the game live.

I dont think the move of the pantion is going to help last time i lost a lot of stuff because i could not move it on time. I had to start out without any mats even though i got my build moved over.

Now for my opinion on the whole map reset and what might work.

1. Map Reset.

It is going to happen at some stage so let it happen. (yes this does mean a loss of a lot of people work) As mentioned before the old map will be made available for download for player that want to keep their old work.

2. The loss of mats and items.

This one is a little one sided yes because i am a donor and this is an advantage for being one. But i would like to suggest that the donor packages be moved across for those that have donated recently. (up to admins if they want to do this for players from the time the donations where being done).

3. The time lost on builds

If the admins where agreeable to this i know it would go a long way to making me happy is to have a land area flattened to the same area of my mega build and the largest amount of time invested was in flatting the land.
I would also like to know if i and other where to build their builds could we get the blocks converted into the same as what the build was. for me the is sandstone and takes so much time to gather and build with.

i could keep going on but let see what the opinions are.

I think your transfer was a special case, for want of a better word! I remember the admins fiddling around for a couple of days with yours. I believe nearly everyone elses chests were fine though. I.e. all the ones in the vaults and pantheron.

oh most likely mine was probably a pain to move.
hence i am ok with the loss of it if a map reset is to go ahead.

Asking toString if it is his time of the month is what I were criticizing you for. No-one has attacked you at all. It is not your place to decide what content is in this thread, it is down to FT and the admins.

There has been loads of posts that don't relate to the server, what about the videos that get posted for example, didn't see you moaning about those?

I am 100% AGAINST any form of map reset where I lose my stuff, I have spent months building my area and do not under any circumstances want to lose anything.

I am happy to have some of it imported and on the other hand I do want some of the features in 1.8, so I guess some form of compromise is necessary
