Anyone else unable to access the vanilla server now? On the server list mine displays '1.6.2' in red and a cross over the signal. Tried redownloading with no luck =(
 
Never mind I sorted it :) just for reference in case other people run into the same problem, click 'edit profile' on the launcher page, then select the older version from the dropdown to launch with
 
Can something be done by the complete lack of animal spawns on the vanilla 1.6.2 server? You can travel for days and see maybe 1 cow or 1 sheep but never a group of them. I have noticed a few houses around the main town that have pits/fenced pens full of animals yet I see no owners. I am not sure if this is the reason why there are no spawns but it has been in previous MC's.

It is impossible to gather materials without animal spawns, I need me COW MEAT! :D

i am sure most wont mind if you bread 2/3 cows from the ones i n houses
and take them with you to your own house. The expand on from there

Did one of it's usual restarts, but getting HTTP 503 error "failed to login java.io.ioexception server returned http response code 503"

Edit - Could be MC issues, showing some things are down.

Must just be you mate - all types of animal spawn, as long as you're a bit away from spawn. I've even found a herd of about 50 horses :)

That doesn't help much though in the long run. How does one gather wool, or feathers? By doing the same there too. Spawns are needed otherwise the server is useless in that regard.

Yep, mc issues. The same thing happened last night but it's lasting a lot longer this time.
