Hey just saw this. I was playing for a while on the servers under the name Eternulo. Thanks all for hosting and Ham for the help around, had some good fun there. Donwloanding the world files.

Is there any way of getting this server back up and running? What would it take?
I've been trying new servers and they all suck donkey dong, seriously bad. I've quit 3 or 4 servers now because they are completely unmanaged, crash all the time, full of griefers etc. Nothing can compete with our server!

The Main problem is funding has always been the biggest issue. not a lack of players or people to help manage it.

£41 a month, plus around 10-20 for the domain cost.
but that was a good plan they had it will very much depend on what deals people can get now as the contract will have terminated

You could probably get by on a cheaper dedi to be honest - especially if you were just running one Minecraft server (and doubly especially if you're just running vanilla MC).
At a pinch you could use the hostname that came with the dedi too. It won't be memorable but that doesn't matter too much if people are mostly just clicking a link from here. I also hosted the website on the same dedi, which reduces costs again further.
I'm happy to offer advice/etc though my time is a lot more limited than it once was.

Might be asking at a bad time, but does anyone have experience of modded Minecraft on a 4K screen? I want shiny new monitor, but I'm not sure what it'll need to push all those pixels in such a poorly optimised game... or if it's even practical.

Hatventures is good if you are after a vanilla server, they also do a skyblock if that interests you as well.

I've been playing on TheCoolTable for the last year or so. It was a fairly busy server, but has gone quite quiet recently, although the owner is looking to do a player recruitment drive. Mostly Van (Spigot/CoreProtect/GriefPrevention/UHome (3) plus a few other plugins).

Anyone been playing Minecraft again since 1.9 dropped live?
I'm having some weird issues when playing on Minecraft Realms. My network monitor says my Minecraft/Java app is using almost 1mb/s of upload, it makes the game almost unplayable with constant disconnects and blocks respawning. Is this a 'normal' amount of upload for it to use on a small Realm with only 2 people online?
