** Official OcUK RIFT Guild **

I want to play with you guys but I don't see the point because i will be levelling really slowly due to work meaning I can't pvp at top level with you and defiant pug pvp is so bad I want to cry with frustration. Played 26 warfront now on my toon in the guild and won 1. Yes 1. I'm not a sad sack who rates winning over everything else but I at least want a decent contest. No one heals, no one chases objectives, no teamwork. It's the moron element of an entire game genre condensed into 1 faction on Rift. You try to talk, lead the team or god forbid even help and you get grief off the morons in the team with you.

Guardian probably winning 75% of games but even when we lose it's a good game and it's because the defiant play better rather than we play bad. If I cap out and they let you faction change I will come across. Otherwise I will be sticking with my guardian toon.

im with you. i want to join too but this guild is based in a pvp server and i simply dont have the time to lvl up as fast as you. i can see it being a nightmare lvling up on your own in a pvp server.

why diddnt you guys join a pve?

You can level up at your own rate, with the way the guild is growing there will be a constant supply of people levelling up, and if not the higher ups are happy to help you out in dungeons and stuff, have already done this twice now :-)

The only reason guardians win so much (we think) is because they have a lot of warrior classes which atm are extremely overpowered...

You only flag for PvP in certain areas (afaik). I'm still hanging out in Freemarch which is the first Defiant area after tutorial and only ventured into a pvp area once for a quest which took me into the middle of the sea. I'm lvl 17 atm and Freemarch has more than enough quests/stuff to do whilst you level up without the risk of being attacked for pvp.

I don't think there is any pressure in guild to reach max level straight away. I'm enjoying the journey at my own pace as playtime is restricted and I'm enjoying just playing. I'll be happy to group my 22 healer with any lowbies or not so lowbies, just shoot me a tell. Char name Eviltaz.

Freemarch ? the area after the tutorial is silverwood

Defiant's tutorial instance is different to Guardians and then they go to Freemarch. If you recall the smashed bridge over the bay after the tutorial, Defiant's land on the other side. All they purple bolts you see coming at your beach, some are being fired by me ;)

Thinking of running Foul Cascade and Kings Breach for a mate tonight if anyone wants to join, there's a 44 Warrior (Me) 44 Cleric (Tank) 44 Mage (Healer) 32 Rogue.

I did play a bit of the beta but performance on my system was pretty dire. Can anyone give me a rough idea of what to expect performance wise on a 5850 1gb/phenom ii x4 (3.4ghz)/4gb ram @ 1900x1200?

If it will be playable in pvp etc I'll pick up a copy today.

Depends what settings you have the game on, i have mine on Ultra with the specs below and i get 50fps but then in major cities and some areas of pvp i drop to 20fps on for a split second or two then i bump back up to 50fps, im gaming at 1920x1080, so you may have to lower the resolution your gaming at for this game or lower the graphics settings! :D

Thanks for the help, looking like I might be building another pc soon probablly best to wait until then I think :)

Still space in the Guild? As Going to pick this up later in town during the week, Yeah could buy it off steam but its like what 8-15gigs least getting the disk version saves downloading all that and a little cheaper.

Maybe play 2-4 hours a day so be levelling slow

Once you have a character going, just apply on the guild website.

I've only just moved from an RP-PVE server to join the guild, but everyone seems pretty cool so far.

Probably the wrong thread, but what's the grind like in this game?

What game is it most like?

What's the pvp like?

I should read up on it but after swearing blind I'd never play another mmo I've avoided every bit of info about this and other new mmo's!

Feels a bit like warhammer/aion, but with wow's noob friendlyness. Quests are pretty damn grindy and pvp is fun if very unbalanced.
