Don't like saying "However, if you can squeeze and extra £40 into the CPU budget, the SMT-enabled Ryzen 5 1400 is most likely a better bet." because you might as well squeeze in another £40 and get 1600

For gaming the i3/Pentiums are beating the R3 so not so RIP, especially the sub £100 Pentiums. No IGPU is a miss at this price point as well. Can't help but feel the R3 would look much better at sub £100. AMD pricing is kind of messed up when you can get an 12 thread for £60 more.

I agree, it's looking a little crowded at the sub £200 mark.

Looks like Raven Ridge has been released!!

The A9 9600 is under £60.

Edit!!

These have a much newer GCN 1.2 based IGP,meaning they have much more modern media support too.
