I hope we don't win our group. If we do we'll likely play Germany 3 days later, but if we're the runners up we'll likely play Ghana 4 days later. Worse team, more recovery time: win-win.

If you want to be the best you have to beat the best. Yo cant hope for an easy route the whole way to the final!

So ghana are the worse team, but they will win their group and Germany will be the second placed team? I'd rather play the Germans at the moment I think. Ballack's out, and it looks like the weakest German side for years.

Didn't stop the germans nearly pulling it off in 2002 IIRC

Its always the weakest german team for years, until the world cup then german spirit , nerve and above all organization comes together :(

Mario Gomez and Miroslav Klose scored five times each in Germany's 24-0 victory over an under-20 selection of South Tirol on Wednesday.

Gomez and Klose each played one of the 30-minute halves in Germany's World Cup training camp.

Germany coach Joachim Loew used 20 players. Other scorers were Piotr Trochowski (3), Cacau (2), Stefan Kiessling (2), Andreas Beck (2), Toni Kroos (2), Arne Friedrich (1), Sami Khedira (1) and Lukas Podolski (1).

Just lol

Was it even worth Germany playing SouthTirol?

Oh and those 5 goals scored by Klose and Gomez - would they count towards their national goals totals?

Here's a nice wallpaper for your mobiles courtesy of everyone's favourite gaylord, he posted it 4 yrs ago and it still means so much to me.

Have Argentina announced their final squad yet? I heard on TalkSport that they might have two Newcastle players in it

Did they ban those annoying horns that were at the World Championships?
Nope, Vuvuzelas are going to be allowed during the world cup matches. However, there have been warnings from organisers that if they are thrown onto the field, then that is the end of it. So if you don't like them, throw one onto the pitch during the game :D

Can you ensure the weather is cold, wet and miserable whenever England have to play any games there please?

The weather here right now is terrible, wet and cold (winter) so it will most probably be like that when England plays :p Although there will be the occasional 34c+ day here and there :)

Who has tickets to the first game!? I will paypal anyone £50 who gets vuvuzellas banned!

I think a lot of people are going to be surprised about how loud the vuvuzelas are. If we all got fed up with that dude at Portsmouth ringing the bell and hitting the drum for 90 minutes, times that by about 6 billion and you'll be close to how annoying a stadium full of vuvuzelas are, for each and every match. It could be so loud that players won't be able to hear each other and coaches won't be able to shout instructions from the sidelines.

We can only hope that the entire population of match goers will get chest infections and not be able to blow the damn vuvuzelas. :p

I tried watching the tv coverage on mute with the radio commentary on during the Confed Cup.... Not only was it not in sync, but the vuvuzellas were still ******* deafening in the radio commentator's mic!
It is incredibly annoying, and I don't want to **** on their tradition, but it's going to do my head in after a whole month of 90 min matches with that incessant din.
