Considering how badly PS1 can run on some modern setups, I'm dying to see just how far into single figure digits PS2 drops to in red alerts :p

I was thinking this :D

Its an expensive game ... simply because its going to need a monster PC !!

I have recently re-subbed to planetside, and can't stop playing it - again. I am getting around 400 frames a sec at 1440x900 with everything set to max (including me ;)). Been some decent battles going on even though i never know whats going on i just love shooting down planes and sniping. I will be BR 20 soon with my VS character wuckfit. Bring on PS2.

It's all about SoulReapers... I'll be on there soon enough, the interest in PS2 is getting me to resubscribe and experience the awesomeness which is PlanetSide's battles.

I was in an Ilfil Suit once and a mozzie pilot saw me and started trying to kill me, camping me in one of the staircases upto a base wall...

all i had was 27 frag grenades on me....

I killed him.

true story :O

PS2 is goign to be VVVVVEry laggy !

Planetside Next is slated for a March 2011 release.

Last week Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley "hinted" that Planetside's sequel may finally arrive in Q1 2011.

The news came during a tour of the Sony Online Denver studio where The Escapist's Greg Tito was able to snag a few minutes with the SOE president. As the two discussed Blizzard's success and Realtime Worlds' failure, Smedley dropped the "bombshell" that unofficially revealed the upcoming MMOFPS.

"We have a very big launch coming in the month of March," Smedley said. "It's a big first person shooter franchise that we're really happy with."

Seems strange to me that there hasn't even been an official announcement made on it, yet they're saying it's coming out this month

some of my greatest and fondest gaming memoeires come from planetside

there has been no gaming experience that can compare with getting a full squad of mates and hopping into a dropship then doing a co-ordinated drop onto a tower roof with air cover..comms chatter on teamspeak.

Planetside is the only game I know where people have "war stories". People re-tell them years later and someone says "yes, I remember being there. That bridge......".

In my eyes, Planetside is easilty the best game ever created as long as you had the patience, determination, intelligence and a group of good friends to playthe game with.

World War II Online is similar in that respect. I think quite a few WWII Online players also played Planetside.
