*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

I was playing on the US server last night and aside from the lag my framerate was decent, around 40-60 I think most of the time.

I'm yet to find a battle with more than 5 people in it though. Perhaps I'm not going to the right places. I got on a Galaxy and went somewhere but as soon as everyone got out it seemed like no one was around.

After 30 minutes the game crashed again. I fell through the floor once, suicided on spawn through no fault of my own way more than once.

Another frustrating evening.

Crashes to desktop every 5, or 10 minutes, spawn tube deaths etc etc.

I appreciate it's very early days, however it doesn't stop it being highly irritating when you've spent the time to squad up, hot drop in and when the action gets juicy you crash out :(

Thought it was just me last night, its just random and makes no sense as to whats triggering it :(

Somebody not related to me in any way told me that while US East server would crash every 10 minutes for him, US West 01 never crashed once in 3 hours. He speculates that it seems there was some sort of bug with the US East server!

I'm guessing that's why in the vid you see the admin asking everyone to log out and use the US East server so that they could trouble shoot issues that were occurring there.

The US East server was going ballistic when I logged a toon on after the EU server went down.

You cant beat logging in and seeing tank after tank rolling off the creation pad.. Looking towards an enemy base and seeing 100s of Friendly target markers... Knowing that that one hell of a fight right there.

It's like a prettier version of PS1 from 2003/2004.

Fingers crossed they don't add anything to PS2 that drives the player-base away again, like it did with PS1.

I hope not, I hope they've managed to keep the "races" different but balanced too. I read in PC Gamer that it'll be a winter 2012 release, from the beta, does this look possible? As long as that doesn't break NDA of course :p

I was going to ask, is it literally just a nicer more modern PS1? or is their any fundamental changes been made tothe gameplay or mechanices etc?

The fundamental mechanics of base captures etc are still there, although they seem more simplistic than PS1 for me. IE, no generators etc it's just point captures.

When it works, it's great. As others have said once Sony iron out the game breakers they're onto a genuine behemoth in my eyes.

so in this mixxed up world of what beta is what when do pcgamer codes go live for beta  :D

is it live now with these or next week or just soooooooon
