*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

Not played this game much but really liking it. Could be the best thing to come to PC in the last 5 years. I just hope SOE don't do a SWG epic **** up. Get it right this could well be to fps what WoW was to mmos.

So far I think SOE deserve a big pat on the back.

I thought I was just rubbish with it. It really seems to have far worse recoil/accuracy than other guns.

i just dumped my 1st 160 certs into it and started going about my usual assault rifle Killing spree... except their was no killing spreee lol....

I really liked the Medic gameplay as NC ... Bloody hard work now. Not nearly as much fun. Maybe it was OP towards the end of beta?

Anyway 3 hours of getting owned on 2 continents is enough for me today :)

Is there no map speak on this?

Trying to co-ordinate people is a nightmare, and the amount of people who just seem to stand in bases and do nothing is baffling :p

Did they mess up NC MA weapons since end of Beta??? horrible Gauss rifle now.

They did it fairly early in beta - NC weapons were never that good, TR weapons had a bug associated with their RPM that meant it was limited to framerate and for the longest time they were only getting NC RPM. Soon as that was fixed TR never looked back. There was a brief period where the Gauss Saw was made a bit insane, but they were quick to fix that.

Right now the only competitive NC weapons are the carbines, the AR/LMGs are very far behind in TTK compared to TR/VS equivalents.

There is a command channel you can cert into. You have to be a squad leader to use it - but it's what you're looking for :P

What I'm looking for is a stick to prod people with so they go in the right direction :p

Only one day in and enjoying it but there does seem to just be a lot of zerging round with no real bother defending. Attacking can be amusing especially as Light Assault and jumping into their base when they don't expect it :D 5 kills before they knew what was going on :D

Also, does anyone else find it difficult to differentiate between the teams? It may just be me being new but at the moment struggle to quickly identidy and this tends to end up with me dead :D

With how bad the friendly icon system not fully working all the time, allowing players to have their own personal camo skin is a really bad idea, but since it's in the game, am trying to decide which one to buy. Personally I think 500 SC for a skin is overpriced, when there is so many maps.

Would be silly getting woodland camo for desert use... :/

But anyway when it comes to flying, what is better, the M14 or M18?

not sure that this game will keep my attention, just seems to be "he who's played the longest wins" at the moment...

Is there an official OCUK team?

The game requires 0 skill and the stock guns are as good if not better than anything you can buy infantry wise.

The only stuff you can can go and buy from the start to give you the edge are HE for lightning and rocket pods/a2a for esf.

Them are down to balance issues rather than pay 2 win.

Seriously its about getting in a good platoon or outfit, thats all that's got me hooked.

I just bought the GD-22S for my heavy assualt and find the recoil so much nicer, smaller clip, but well worth 100 certs.

Thinking of buying some station cash so I can invest in some anti-air gear, getting tired of being picked on by people with rocket pods :p
