You'll be bottle-necked by the Q6600 I'm afraid.
 
Has anyone managed to re-map the flight controls? The fact that moving the mouse left and right just rolls the aircraft is driving me nuts, you have to combine up/down mouse motion with left/right keypresses to actually aim.

I have on my X52 & pedals without the problems you describe.

But if turning down the gfx settings why is the GPU usage reduced? That has to be bad coding right? Lower settings for the GPU shouldn't mean it takes a break, it should be running at 99% utilisation but producing more fps?! Bear in mind the GPU runs at 99% on full settings.

This game is CPU based, so as I have the same CPU as you with a 6970 2GB, I have the same issue.

But yeah, bad coding.

Tried it on my X52, didnt like it. couldnt get used to the stationary movement and had to up sensitivity to make it as responsive as a mouse then lost control too many times. Think ill stick to using the joystic for games that have to obey the laws of earth mavity!
 
I'm enjoying this, fantastic game considering its free to play and scale of it is immense. Performance is pretty decent with a mix of high and medium settings.

Battles seem very uncoordinated so far, even if I join squads but the engagements can be epic. Earning certs is a bit of a grind and buying them is a tad expensive imo but I may still be tempted :)
 
Well got used to it a bit as time went on, is there only one map?

We took a few bases, lost a few. Got killed a lot, but took out a tank and got a few kills of my own in a large battle :) On Woodman VS like some people saying they were on here, no idea what my toon was called but I might try and get on tonight and see if you guys are about.

One question, how do you make your guy better? I'm BR3 whatever that means :p

Three maps, accessible from panels next to where you spawn at your warp gate (and through your instant deployments on your map apparently).

You make your guy better by buying better weaponry through cash or certs, but realistically through cash. Thats only the first step though.

Certs are your earned currency, the circle in the bottom left with a number underneath. You call up your certifications (escape and second right tab i think)then select the class you want to upgrade.

Now you can upgrade elements of the character or start attaching bits to the gun. For example, on my heavy ive got 4 armor ranks giving me an extra 20% health (300 certs i think) and on one of my guns ive got a forward grip (100 certs) to keep it a bit steadier, a 10x sight (30 certs) and faster ammo (100 certs). You can do this for all classes and vehicles. Rocket pods for the Mossie? 1000 certs or 700SC. A night sight to go on them? 100 certs etc. etc. etc.

Ahh Vanu scum! The TR of Woodman will crush you! :) Vanu are definitely the most active faction on that server, the amount of Magriders I've blown to pieces is immense...

Certificates (Certs), you can unlock more items / role-specific upgrades using certs.

As description - fleet carrier. Want the devs to let you carry a tank on a Galaxy? Pah - they are more ambitious that that. How about dropping in 10 fully gunned mags and lightnings to the front lines!

Think Titan in BF2142 - only player controllable!
