*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

I'm fairly new to PS2 but I'm honestly surprised this doesn't happen more often. I've seen a couple of alerts where one faction absolutely dominates, and the other two scrap it out over a single building. Surely it would make more sense to gang up against the dominating team? It'd be more interesting anyway.

You're assuming a lot in terms of how easy it is to get the people who aren't in outfits to go where they'll be useful. The TR are finding this lately with an outfit called SCEV whose leader is frankly an idiot and sucks up large amounts of manpower in places they just aren't needed.

Yes in an ideal world the factions would team up on the overpopped/overpowered/winning side but in reality all it takes is one outfit to go for an easy fight against the second underdog faction and it all kicks off. The only way to stop this happening is having all outfits work together but this is next to impossible as you'll always have arguments and idiots.

Not played this in ages, anything new? Never thought id get out of the routine of cracking on PS2 each night for a few frags

Waiting for the PS4 version :D

True, but I was more thinking of it in the sense that if one faction holds the majority of the facilities then there's no way they can possibly defend them all at the same time, so instead of picking on the single facility held by the third faction, which they'll probably defend en masse because it's their only one, it'd make more sense to send an outfit or two to the dominating factions areas. There are only so many of those which they'll be able to effectively respond to, wherease the other underdog faction will be able to focus on the small number of outposts which they have. If the non-outfitters stagger around and cause distractions elsewhere then even better.

KOTV (Keepers of the Void), the largest outfit in PS2, is doing a Miller event on Saturday.

We are all making Vanu characters on Miller to assist our noble Vanu bretheren.

So look forward to seeing a lot more Vanu on Saturday if you are a Miller player.

:D

Even better Woodman alerts should be fun on Saturday night ;)

Well the update was delayed all day then it broke the game.

On top of that, they nerfed the Harasser so it's death trap on wheels, before we was kicked out of the game, I managed to get inside VR for a bit.

NC Gauss Saw kills it with one magazine while VS/TR kills it with three magazines. Marauder kills it with 14 shots, kills infantry in 4 body/headshots and does no damage to tanks of any kind. lol

Good job guys, what you going to get nerf next?

They probably over nerfed the harasser so they can release empire specific buggies that act more like the pre nerf harasser but with lower speed, so tankier, more damage, slower, bigger.

Like in PS1 the harasser was a paper thin, very fast lightly weaponed buggy then the ES specific buggies were the damage dealers.

Can't say I have any sympathy at all, the harasser was far too strong so it needed nerfing, this has been on the cards for months now.

It beats getting run over all the time :)

I might come back and play if someone could do air cover for me, getting taken down by heat seeking Reavers is the bane of my gamelife. :D

Going on a kill streak as light assault was always fun though till I run out of ammo. :P

Well more testing in VR and I have to say a large amount of vehicle weapon balance is out of balance.

There is no point using the TR Marauder over the Fury now. Marauder has 14 shots and has smaller splash damage and less damage while the Fury has 12 shots, more damage and a bigger splash. Both the Marauder and Fury kills other buggies and ESF's in one magazine. Half a magazine of both will do over 60% damage to ESF's.

Next few weeks, my Wraith Fury Flash and Fury Battle Bus is going outside again. I'm so happy that I maxed out my Fury first on my Harasser.

Saying that, the Harasser is a joke now, it's a death trap on wheels and dies as fast as the Flash does. I read a post that some guy killed a Helbred Harasser with his Walker on the Harasser. lol

Walker kills Harassers with one magazine (it did before to be honest) and half a magazine will kill a ESF.

Kobolt, the new kill everything gun. It kills ESF's pretty well, again one magazine will kill it, kills Harassers with one magazine and kills infantry in a few shots and it has high angle, so you can shoot aircraft with ease.

But there is a better gun then the Kobolt and we all have it, I recommend everyone certs the Basilisk because this weapon is a beast, never thought I say it, but I want it on my PROWLER. Kills infantry in like two bursts which is like second or two. Kills ESF's in one magazine, kills Harassers in less then a magazine, kills tanks and other vehicles really good too, better then before. The rate of fire is awesome on it. lol Makes the Vulcan and Kobolt pointless.

Other then a Battle Bus with Furies, I want a Battle Bus with Basilisks because it tears vehicles apart with ease.

The Lightning Viper was good before and it's even better now, that's the next thing am certing up, kills vehicles with ease. The Bulldogs by the way are like nukes, totally recommend them, kills ESF's in 2 hits, kills Lib's in 6+ hits and kills Galaxies in 10 hits.

I also feel very guilty because I spent 3000 SC on the new Dark Digital Cammo, need more SC now to buy the Christmas Horns. :/

Servers are down again because of some server problem.

Too many changes in one update always breaks things.

But least TR has the Northern Warpgate in Indar for Christmas.

Whilst it basically gives you half the map for free I personally find that by far the most boring, and you just end up fighting at Howling Pass/Rashnu and Indar Excavation/Quartz Ridge continuously.
