As the devs have posted a few times now, wait until you see the game running with multiple continents so you can get proper meta-game going. As whilst a server is limited to one continent you're essentially playing little more than 3 way TDM.

Ah great news, one of the big failings of PS (for me) was the lack of a tactical feel, and it was plain depressing after a while to be fighting hard for something for hours, only to have it all gone the next morning. now if they can get joystick support sorted, ill be one happy bunny.
 
Just downloaded the client and logged on, chose my faction, but all the servers seem to be locked?

Is there something I'm missing?

me and Kanus play on Chaldene as NC, hopefully with the new wave of invites the pops will balance out on all servers since each EU server has either high TR,NC or vanu pop amusingly.

For voice comms we use mumble and ocuk's mumble server.

Me and Kanus will be sat off on mumble most of the night most likely either on borderlands or Planetside so hop on and give us a poke if you wanna play some Planetside, if by some strange reason we are not on mumble throw a post in here.
 
Having some issues with this at the mo, people /vehicles blinking out at range. Bought a 4X scope and the little purple VS chaps keep popping in and out of existence which makes aiming difficult. Having fun in a turret except for the explosions not showing at a reasonable distance and the aircraft disappearing altogether soon after. The only way you know youre hitting is smoke and the xp gain. I presume this is all part of the FPS fix from the last patch.

Going to try and sort the haze tonight, somethings not working with that bat file.
 
Its still good. But i think its lost its magic now. Its clear that it wont be the PS experience but just updated and sexy looking.

That isnt to say its bad but threes no real chance of me getting massively into this.

Its gonna be way to aimed at pulling in fast station cash purchases to satisfy the modern generation of wanting everything on a plate gamer.

Its ironic that i still find the best fighting smaller 30vs30 infantry stuff and that can be gotten elsewhere very easily.

its a great game but eventually 5 tanks turn up and blow one team to bits like a 120mm explosive sledgehammer and there is NOTHING you can do :)

the whole population imbalance and resource model is clever im sure they will get 3-6 months solid revenue out of their game before frustration forces many to quit.
 
I know where youre coming from but I was looking through the certifications and there certainly are some game changers in there. My main bugbear are those damn bombers that sit above a spawn bombing the hell out of it, when there isnt an AA gun or a tank spawn around, gets very annoying. Theres a Max unit AA wep which can be deployed (for X cash) and i would love to have that. Add in rockets, nvg sights, tank upgrades and all that jazz and I think the game you play in six months would be very different from the one at launch. yeah they want you to pay for it, but if its good enough I would.

I think the biggest problem is the Zerg. Because of the way the small and medium sized bases are designed to be very open with no real choke points, as well as the fact that there really is no way to kill a bunch standing together with a ground based unit (everything seems to take at least 2 hits of anything), a zerg is virtually unstoppable until it runs out of steam. This is especially ridiculous with one of those tanks that fires four fast rounds - what exactly is that meant to do, considering I can hit all four rounds bullseye on one guy and he'll walk out the other side unharmed. Trying to take down a vehicle takes ages - lots of fire and light but no damage.

The spawning system contributes to this. I cannot spawn in the way of a zerg or where i know an attack is coming without driving there. Drives me mad when theres a full on firefight going on and the map doesnt think so, so doesnt designate it a hotspot. Still havent done any teamwork here though, I suspect having a squad might make a difference.

The game drives me mad and thrills me in equal measure.

It's not quite PS, but it's still the best FPS on the market at the moment for me.

However, you need to control the rage over Mumble :)

Have to agree with Monkey00, loving the sniping in this game.

Damn overpowered NC sniper rifle, no such epic moments exist for the Vanu :p
 
jeez as NC on my server getting 12500 auraxium would mean playing nonstop.

Default 7x and boltdriver is so much fun i forgot after using the x12 for so long.

getting into mid range fights and just 1 shotting all the medics in the face muahah.

Vanu dominating Herse has made getting Auraxium pretty easy, got lucky there I guess however it would probably be more fun if the populations were better spread between all the EU servers :/
 
mines max NC 28% peak time TR and VS taking 40% either or ...but mostly TR heavy.

i popped on during the day and NC were 0 based in minutes.
 
Popped on for a bit last night, think im missing a trick with the Auraxium stuff.

Anyway, VS came right up to the warpgate and a mighty mighty battle ensued. At one point we had 7 or 8 spawn points, or at least the trucks there, I could only see two spawning options. A constant stream of armor pounded the base and *eventually* managed to get air superiority. I was one of the first to get a bead on the spawn door after about 30 minutes and start racking up those kills. Great fun was had by all, but the strategy was pretty much spawn vs spawn rather than anything directed. Shame.

BUT once again, the explosions are bothering the hell out of me, theres lots of fire and light and no real ill effects. Id like them to be more related to the damage they do so you actually know when you have to start paying attention. As a trooper I really dont worry about a prowler in close priximity, but you cant really tell the difference between an explosion from a bomber and one from the prowler other than you die in one and not the other.
