*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

Had an amazing fight last night on Esamir, Vanu where pushed right back but we managed to push out to the biolab north of the Warpgate, the fight there goes on for a while and I get chased away in my lightning back to the crossing watchtower after rearming and repairing. In chat someone mentions a TR tank spawn heading our way and surely enough I look over and there is a massive tank swarm piling over the hill...so naturally I attempted to cheese it only to be destroyed by hundreds of TR shells.

Is anyone else having this problem where the world vanishes and re appears randomly, but all the lights and shadows stay there?

Yea pretty much everyone from time to time has had this. Just one of them things, they will fix it soon :)

I had that a few times.

The 1FPS bug is the worst bug ever through, anyone had that?

I only had it inside a vehicle, if you can get out the vehicle and back in, that fixes it or getting out the zone.

ah, ok.
I have had a bug where the fps tanks to 1 and then the game locks up and takes a few minuets to start responding again if that's what you mean IronWarrior

So is it a good or a bad thing that it shows both?

The best scenario for this is flicking between CPU and GPU. This shows that your system is balancing the load between the 2 components you have.

If it continualy shows GPU and you are unhappy with your fps then you need to reduce some shiny settings. There is a nice SOE thread on the forums explaining the best way to do this.

If it continualy shows CPU then its your CPU holding you back. If you want more FPS, over clock it or get a new one.
Sometimes using higher settings will help improve your FPS as well as it moves engine load from the CPU onto the GPU.

The game is very CPU dependant and doesnt use quad core systems very well.
You can see [CPU] as your bottleneck and actualy only be at 25% cpu usage.

Had a brilliant game on thursday night, I joined a platoon that was mostly made up of an outfit. Got a feeling of how the game was meant to be played, being part of a group of galaxies with 30+ players, with fighter support heading towards an objective (I was actually 1 of the galaxy pilots :D ).
Then when we got there, all the squads had different waypoints, then the platoon leader started a countdown and we all attacked the base from different sides.

My only disappointment is that the outfit said they had a website/steam group, but I can't seem to find them :( . They are [CT] on Woodman NC, think the name stood for Cut Throats.

Few quick questions while I'm at it.

Is there anyway to play with the map, so that it's easier to find vehicle spawns etc, I know 'H' blows up the mini map slightly, but it doesn't really help.

How do you take down those barriers that stop you vehicles from entering an enemy base?

Yeh, Esamir was pretty badass last night. The outfit I played with went over to Indar late around 10pm, pushed both TR and NC back to the warpgate, almost continent locked, just a few bases to go and an NC outfit called WASP turned up at the NC warpgate and pushed us back a bit after a quality fight at the NC WG, I logged off after a while and not sure if we got our continent lock on Indar.

Thanks, that makes sense.

Most BF3 players stare at the top/bottom of an escalator on Metro for hundreds of hours on end; so they can **** off with what they expect from other games tbh :)

Ah, while I might agree with your analysis of BF3 players there I just like to point out I didn't mention players, I only mentioned the visuals of the game which is pretty much a benchmark atm.

Ah Yes, G37 as well. This means the servers are...

Bah, cannot do the joke as don't know how to embed a youtube vid lol

I'm going to roll on Miller, can anybody recommend a guild? I don't mind which faction as I haven't decided my faction yet. Cheers.

Tough to recommend an outfit without you saying which faction.

TR have the highest pop on Miller and the best guns so are complete easy mode if you play those. BMC / BRTD are outfits for them.

Vanu have the next best pop, weapons aren't far behind TR. So if you like pwetty shiney lasers going pewpewpepwpepw out of your guns, play them. ISK is the only outfit that springs to mind though.

NC have a very low pop, pretty bad guns so if you're a bit of a masochist or really enjoy raging and enjoy finding new ways to make yourself rage, play them. CONS / WASP are outfits for them you could check out.
