*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

I switched from Miller to Ceres while I was only BR 9, very wise choice!

Anyone used the rocket pods for ESF or the Zepher for the Liberator? Got them the other day, love em!

Think my face class so far is Medic when I'm with my mates or LA if I'm going solo.

People who are getting resonable FPS (30+, smooth)
what rigs are you running out of interest?
everyone say's this is CPU limited but I can't help feeling that a LOT of this is server side.

Rigs in my sig, playing on medium at present for 60+ fps but still get 30+ on high although with everythnig maxed it's dropped down to 22ish in extremely intense fighting.

Games very unoptimized atm and there's no decent drivers for it yet. Seeing as i'm used to 120fps for my 120hz monitor it is disappointing.

I get 20-30fps on the Trinity setup all on medium bar one or two things, render quality at 85%. Not great but playable. Got a 7850 coming next week. If it really is cpu based I wont see an improvement, but I am willing to bet I will! Was playing with a 6870 and it looked and ran a lot better.

Why are people so stupid? This is what I hate about playing on pubs in fps's and this game is one massive pub server full of imbeciles. I played for a few hours yesterday trying to take Sungrey amp station on Amerish and it's particularly hard to attack having to take out both generators simultaneously before assaulting a very defensible capture point.

Suffice to say there was literally hundreds of people on both sides and despite a 2-1 numbers advantage NC just couldn't make any ground (not helped by 95% of the team circle jerking around a Sunderer or going for kills and only a handful going for objectives). I need to find a competent outfit desperately.

We owned a decent portion of the map at this point yet when I get up this morning everyone's still fighting over this one small area and we're losing everything else with only about 3 people attempting to stop multiple full squads...

I blame the *instant action* option for herding sheep to one point at the expense of tactical insight like the tards that they are.

You just have to accept that almost everyone around you - all those randoms - have absolutely no idea what is going on, where they are, or what they're supposed to be doing. So expecting them to make logical pushes for objectives and outlaying camps on amp stations is a bit of a stretch.

I was tempted to buy some SC cash to buy some weapons, but £15 for 2000 SC is just a rip off when the weapons cost 700 SC. That's £5.50 or about for the 700 SC weapons.

That be fine if the weapon was totally awesome, but I know they suck for most of the part.

If you play with 100% xp boost getting the certs for such things doesn't really take any time at all.

^^This.

Just do what I will be doing when it comes to buying SC - wait for the sales. There was one on Friday for double SC, there was one at Halloween for triple SC, there will most probably be one at Christmas (last year it was triple SC.)

I spent £15 and got 4000 SC, not bad I don't think.

As for my rig - I'm running a i5 2500k @ 4ghz, 6970, 8gb ram with everything on High or medium @ 1080p and I get 60fps if there's not a lot going on, dipping to 40 fps in huge battles. Very, very rarely spot it go below 40.

I'm running 2x 7970's - immense lag in crossfire so running solo.

Getting up to 100 fps in empty areas, and down to 20 (but not laggy), in huge fights.

Running an i7 950 @ 4.2ghz (+16gb ram) with that also.

Pretty much the same as you. Everything is fine on maxed details, 60-110 fps, but as soon as a big fight kicks off it hits 25fps, I know the game is doing some extreme CPU processing, but using only 45% of my 3570k is not helping at all. I had subbed initially, but because of the poor performance I have now cancelled.

Don't bother with SC, the conversion from $ to £ is really poor. Your best bet is waiting for another triple station cash, hopefully over xmas as they had a double station cash the other day for thanksgiving.

Will be installing later. This will be me :D

I'd agree with this, the triple station cash offer was ridiculously nice, don't think i'd top up with the current value of SC.
£30 for 12000 SC, you can buy all the weapons you want and leave certs for progression upgrades - curious when (if) they'll be doing it again.

Have they actually acknowledged performance issues or is this it? Seeing as I'm getting similar performance to others with my E7200 at 3.7GHz they've got a long way to go.

The game is incredible and the atmosphere is incredible but I really struggle playing FPS at anything less than 60fps.
