After playing this game, i would not recommend to anyone.
its so unbalanced against the new player its unbelievable, empty full clips into people and them turning around to one shot you, does not equal fun in any category.
 
I do enjoy this game but at the moment its far too zergy.

There are no real incentives to defend, no way to build up bases to help you defend and hold territory and no real objectives beyond zerging.

I'm glad it's free and f2p so i'll continue to play as its a good laugh and some harmless fun but I generally find myself logging after 30mins at a time as I just get a little bored with zerging around.

Great potential though and as I say will keep playing to see where it goes :) It's great having this and GW2 f2p, all my gaming needs catered for :D

This is certianly an issue I agree.
 
I am also having issues, i have not played in am month now when I start the launcher it says I have connection issues and wont launch the game.
 
Really, there isnt any class that you can empty your mag into except for a max (big roboty thing) that could 1. survive and then 2. turn and one-shot you. Youre either missing your shots or have some lag issues.

Only time that should happen is if your up against a Max, i'm still in basic infantry gear and I can't say I struggle.

I have had what this guy is saying a few times. Full clip , he takes no damage, then pretty much one shots you. And no, not a max. Even had it happen against a sniper.

However, it is nothing to with balance... More likely net code being crap or some such.
 
I installed this a few nights ago to give it a go :D

I think it's ok
I don't really think OMG ... BEST GAME EVER!
Steam says I've played it for over 8hours.

The game seems to have it's moments of excitement but it just feels like a lot of headless chickens running around at the moment :(

I think I might be unlucky as I've had a lot of bugs/issues (floating bodies of alive people without animation, transparent map/floor, getting stuck under map like in the bf3 beta, loader crashing out etc)

There also seem to be a lot of people on the game just to run their own team over in tanks :(

Overall I'd describe the game as UT3 + BF3 rolled together on a huge scale

One thing I don't like is the potential of pay to win. I think in a few months new players will have a hard time getting into it.

Have been playing in an outfit tonight with 40+ people, we had 1 squad that was air covering us and the rest moving via ground. Later on the outfit leaders also coordinated with another very large outfit who had 2 platoons making us a total of 120ish players.
This game is a sight to behold sometimes, to those talking about headless chickens and no teamwork, get yourself an outfit!

You mean not reconmend it to anyone........... except those that watch the you tube training videos, those that prefer mass combined arms warfare to piffling 64 player maps, 16sq km maps and those that - shock horror - join an outfit?

It hasn't been out a month, you probably have the beta, uninstall it and download the retail version.
 
Is there any chance I have the beta version?

I downloaded it from planetside.eu and despite my okish rig I'm getting some really shocking FPS in large battles, along with loads of other people.
 
Came across 2 blatant cheaters tonight on Miller/Amerish.

One guy was zooming all over the place as a medic, in the style typical of someone using a speedhack whilst getting 20-30 kills all headshots in a matter of seconds.

We all reported him so will be interesting to see if these cheats propagate or will SOE do something to curtail it I wonder.
 
Something that was happening tonight, was people in the same team tanks... Intentionally pushing sunderers out of safe areas and then blowing them up. This was happening for a few hours during big attacks. Clearly in my mind someone in a rival faction. Guys name of the one we found was sgtseige on woodman.
 
Probably doing it so their squad members could put their own there and get the xp.

Since I got my 7850 yesterday, it has opened up a whole new style of play for me. Can actually get involved in infantry combat now, not just sit back in my magrider :-)

Saving for the nemesis aa for heavy assault. 800 cert points to go :-(
 
this is nothing on the 1st one.

if they had taken planetside one, ran it through a new engine added some new stuff then it would be an epic game.

air at the moment is saturated with moslty vn sythes no other faction stands a chance in a dogfight with them.

and god yes cheaters everywhare. i dont think there is any anti cheat program running, no punkbuster, its on steam so can they not run vac? or is that valve only servers?
