New rendering settings on Connery and Miller servers, indar only I think.

Tried it out, pretty awesome been able to people at TI now from the crown lol and the hill by crossroads from crown.

Only problem now is everyone is playing sniper lolol. Get ready for some crying.

Anyone have a link for the announcement of this?

If this is coming for us all, this is going to change a LOT of stuff. Sniping is only the beginning!

This may well get me back in-game. Rendering is my one big hate.

Hahaha, who needs a sniper weapon when any weapon on VS is just as good. :rolleyes:

What you were expecting some sort of forum announcement from the developers about what they changed where and what time ?

Did you expect them to tell the community that they are making giant strides to the number 1 problem for everyone called rendering and that you can come and look/test it out on 2 servers only (Connery, Miller) and only on Indar ?

Why would they do that when Higby could just tweet less than 140 characters on twitter!!! :D:p:cool:

I expect them to start releasing patches soon that only have enough fixes and changes to meet the 140 character limit on twitter.

Smedley: So its ready go live on this weeks hotfix, that's great news.
Higby: Well we cant release it this week because I couldn't fit all the fixes in one tweet.

I imagine this is how it goes at SOE towers.

Haha, I guess I was but now I realise the error of my ways. Perhaps I need to check reddit/higby's twitter more.

Personally I'm all for companies engaging with the community via new media, but that shouldn't be at the expense of their own official forums!

Putting this rendering patch out there on Connery and Miller is going to be hard to take back if they decide not to roll it out, that gives me some hope that I'll actually be playing with a decent render distance soon!
 
Well they are applying a hotfix now and it was on the forums before twitter and reddit !!

· Alpha Squad boosts were regranted with full six months and extra bonus to resources and experience. All Alpha Squad players must re-equip the new boost.
· Depot – New Mana Anti-Vehicle Turret available for purchase.
· Light Assault – Fixed a bug where jump jet cert progression would not properly
· Invulnerability for revived players has been removed
· Effect added to help indicate temporary invulnerability on respawn
· Membership status window should correctly display loyalty level
· Missiles locked on to the vehicle in flight will again provide audio/visual indicators
· Fixing descriptions of the Mosquito M14 Banshee magazine certs
 
Ah, are my jumpjets finally fixed? Excellent!

Anti vehicle mana turret too, brilliant! I wonder what the rate of fire / projectile speed is like.

I'm glad we got alerts now with incoming lock-ons, that was very annoying.

So they added the Anti-Vehicle Turrent for the Engineer when he already has 5 tank mines, 4 C4, 3 AI mines, Repair Gun, Ammo Pack and now the AV turret.

Why else would you want to play anything else other then the Engineer?

Guess so, maybe you can buy it from eBay.

Sony does triple SC days every so often that's saves you a lot of money. You can also save a lot of money by making sure your account is set to US and not GB, paying in dollers saves a few quid.

The things I reduced to get this running better was shadows, render distance, particles, effects and MaxVoices. It does look a bit pants though. :(
