*** Official Planetside 2 Thread ***

I think I may of finally managed a smooth 40fps in heavy battles! :cool:

Here's my .ini;

The things I reduced to get this running better was shadows, render distance, particles, effects and MaxVoices. It does look a bit pants though. :(

Hope this helps someone out. :)

Done a couple of changes to this today that has made it look much better, and increased GPU load 'and' fps slightly.

TextureQuality=0 (this is for no compression of the textures, and therefore the Max setting)
RenderQuality=1.410000 (equal to 2x super sampling apparently, this increased the GPU load the most)

If you've got a decent GPU, with usage ~50%, give these options a try.

My life as an Pliot in Planetside 2.

Hopefully I can get back into it now too. I like to sit back in my tank and provide artillary like support. Will probably have to make a new character on the servers with the new rendering settings.

Jackhammer is win :) but only once you get extended mag.

It's deadly out to about 15 meters, add in restore kit, resistance shield and nanoweave :) given also the awesomeness of the NC pistol as well I can tend to flank ridgelines of snipers and laugh all the way to the cert bank :p

I've been playing on Woodman all weekend and it's just got too repetitive. It's such a huge game world and everyone's fighting for an area smaller than a BF3 map. Miller appears to of moved on a bit.

I don't think it's intentional, just that the number of players has dropped quite a bit since GU2, so there isn't often enough for all three continents, and the area of Indar around the crown/ti-alloys is suited to all three factions coming together. Then everyone gets stuck in a rut because they want a big battle.

You need to get a character going on another server anyway because there will be times in this game when your server is down, or full of cheater. Plus the one you're currently not playing for a week or two is racking up certs, which you can spend in one go the next time you jump into it. Also, it's more interesting and fun to play the different factions anyway.

This is true to some extent, but keep in mind you need to keep logging into that toon occasionally, possibly even every day, otherwise the passive cert gain stops until you log in again. You can't just make a character leave it for 6 months then come back to thousands of certs.
