Played this today at the Gadget show

Feels like portal, looks a little different in the art style but in a good way. The 360 version does look a bit rough though

I just kicked off my pre-load too and was pleasantly surprised by the 10gb download! Either this game is going to be really big compared with the last one, or as you say it's packed full of lovely high-res textures and audio.

And what are all these rumours of an early release? Personally I doubt it but it seems that the noise is coming form people close to Valve themselves...

See this is what I don't get - there is no reason they can't release it early. They are in charge of Steam and if the game is complete, then get it out. I suppose they are only waiting because they don't want to upset EA and the bricks and mortar retailers.

That's precisely it, hence my doubt. Valve would most likely have some agreement to take a fair bit of cash from EA or whoever before to distribute the game, and have an agreement that they can't sell via Steam before the boxed copies are available.

That's 16:00BST next Tuesday..might have to run home early from work
