Not as such.

We all know valve are the type of company to surprise their customer base, but the game is still set for release 21st as far as stores are concerned, people who pre ordered with stores will end up getting the game late if value just release the game today.

Then again, they could release for steam only, in time for this weekend, typical valve style, great publicity.

Admittedly i'm a bit excited:p
 
How come there are no reviews out yet? If it's coming on the 19th April surely there should be some scores on the doors now?
 
There were previews yesterday which is enough and if the game is coming early then Valve are obviously aiming at the people who are going to buy it anyways, then the people who need reviews can buy it Saturday/Sunday.

A prior weekend release would make sense.

But i dont know if they can/should because of pre orders, if sites have been promising the game delivered on/before release date, and valve release early, they make their sellers (stores) look bad by not fulfilling their promise..
 
That will be games that are published by EA though? Whereas the steam version isn't so valve can do what they like with it is my guess :p

Will make console owners a little miffed but yet the 10x more steam users very happy!

The Retail date is the 21st, nothing to do with the Steam version. Valve can release Portal 2 on Steam whenever they feel like it. EA control the physical copy release and distribution.
 
Has anyone noticed that the icon for Steam has changed? I currently have it minimized but I can't quite tell what it is.

Probably just a strange issue but hey ho...
 
I think this early release may be for a reason also. Think about it, on actual release day, how many PSN ID's will be getting linked with STEAM accounts. This could cause major stress on servers through activations and all. Maybe the idea was to have it release early for PC/MAC users so their is a smooth transition between now and the console folk?

Or am i just talking rubbish? :p

Hey Dave, get me some diamonds :p

At it's heart, Portal is a survival puzzle game. There is a free 2d version you can try out of the basic puzzler element:

Now imagine that flash game in 3d :cool: There are no offensive weapons in the original to distract from the core game, which endears me to this game even more.

This being Valve, the game is laced with hidden areas, drama, a massive helping of humour, a cube with love hearts that accompanies you for a significant portion of the game (until... well, you'll find out ;)), a psychotic AI and more importantly CAKE.

The end game song is also a treat :D

I guess it'll either be the final stage of the ARG thing or it could be a demo and enough people complete it the game will go live.
 
On steam now the price has changed and if you pre-order it you get 20% off, thats bull**** I pre-ordered early and only got 10% off yet people who waited are now going to get 20%, totally unfair
 
I think the two pack was always 20%? It's why I bothered finding someone else to buy it with, wouldn't have bothered else.
