Alright i have just finished installing the mods and run it for a few moments whilst recording with your settings, my footage was absolutely fine no stutters, how often would you say the recordings were ending up like this? I will do some more tomorrow to see if i can get it to go bad but i need some sleep now :D

:p Your sig is broken :D " the image you are requesting does not exist or is no longer available " from imgur.

And nah that spec isn't showing it's age it's still pretty new kit.

Ahh, I'll have to remedy that, ta.

At worst, probably every other recording, sometimes a little less often but it can be more.

I'll try installing another Stalker mod and see if it still does it.

So i have done 13 recordings this morning in various areas and with various graphic settings ect and this issue doesn't seem to be cropping up for me im starting to think it may be something else causing it.

Thanks for going to the trouble of trying this out. Perhaps a reinstall of OBS is worth trying.

Could it be the age of the PSU? It's at least 6 years old. Maybe I'm just clutching at straws there but it did spring to mind.

Could be worth a try doing a fresh OBS, i was racking my brain of any difference between our setups.

6600K/980Ti/16GB
2700x/1080Ti/16GB

So really there is no difference there on a hardware level that should remedy this difference.

Don't think the PSU would cause it seems a bit odd if that could happen. One major difference we do have however is operating system.i would put a little money on it being a possible cause. Have you monitored what the system is doing during recording? Using something like Afterburner you could get a really good idea if anything was acting up whilst the recording was going funny. That way you can rule out a lot of hardware components.

Interesting point about the OS, it may well be time to upgrade back to W10 again. No, I haven't monitored what's going on during recording yet, good idea. If I get around to making a test recording this evening I'll try an use something to monitor the system. Incidentally, I don't know about you but I've very often found OBS not to like Afterburner; I believe it can be somewhat picky about what other programs you have running at the same time. I'll still try it again when I test things out though.

I don't typically use OBS im a lazy shadowplay user myself :D this mod did run okay with afterburner/obs for me but your mileage may vary :D

What did you think of the mod?

It's quite good im not a huge stalker player but it could pull me back into it. I have passed it off to a friend of mine who has several thousand hours in the game. I did ask him about your OBS issue too to see if he knew anything related to stalker/recording issue but as i expected he didn't as he never records stuff.

Any luck solving this issue yet?

I spent a little time last night testing and had no issues. I did watch one tutorial which allowed me to tweak one or two minor things, though nothing I think that would benefit the problem in question (unrelated adjustments). I'll keep testing and post back every now and then. Cheers for taking a look. :)

Interestingly, but probably nothing related to the issue, last night while on the desktop, the graphics card fans started to spin up quite fast/rising temps, then a short while later it returned to normal. It's happened before but it's a pretty rare occurrence. Maybe time is starting to take its toll due to it being worked fairly hard for well over three years now.

Could do with a good cleaning out by the sounds of it :)
