Just watched new trailer.. really doesnt look anything great

Graphics look cack up close, just looks like RE4 with africans to me.

need to do an RE just like 1 and 2 instead of this crap

So no zombies? I suppose they are trying something new like in the previous game but I can't help but feel the whole zombie aspect made the original 3+ games. The graphics don't look 'crap' to me.

RE1,2 and 3 all outsold RE4. Okay RE4 total is about the same as RE2 but thats over 3 platforms. RE2 is 5 million just from one platform and one game. All RE1 iterations total nearly 7 Million. Again 5 million alone just coming from the PS1.

The only thing that makes RE4 a Resident Evil game is the fact it has the name and characters slapped on it. Resident Evil imo is all about Zombies, using your brain to figure out problems (RE4 lacked a lot of this), Surviving and conserving your ammo (RE4 had more ammo then a Rambo film). Don't get me wrong I thought RE4 was a fantastic game and it took the series a whole step further in terms of mechanics but in turn also took the series several steps backwards in story, setting and survival horror.

**** sales! I bought RE4 and don't play it I bought RE1 and 2 comepleted them both asap

doesnt mean because they sell well its automaticaly better than previous ones.

Never really enjoyed the series at all until Resi4 which was fantastic stuff. Glad to see this one follow a similar path game play wise, I look forward to it.

Doesn't really matter RE4 was released on 3 platforms so it has a huge Userbase.

RE2 sales is just for the PS1 version. Don't quote me but i am pretty sure the combined user base of the PS2, Wii and Gamecube is a lot bigger then the user base of the PS1 yet RE2 to date has still outsold all 3 versions of RE4 combined.

Forgetting sales would you seriously rather have a story about black Africans on drugs or a story similar to RE2 with conspiracy, zombies and horror?

Bit naive are we? Sales matter hugely. If a particular iteration of a game sells more then the developers are far more likely to base sequels on that iteration.

I'd much prefer an RE2 based game.

Everyone knows Nemesis was the worst Resident Evil.

That was RE3 right? It really felt like an expansion pack for RE2 for me. I thought Mercenaries mode on it was the best implemented in the series though. Awesome scenarios, intense action, great music and a well-tuned challenge.

Not to mention hard mode on RE3 was insane. The early stages especially. Doing first Nemesis encounter with a knife anyone?
