***Official Rift Planes of Telara Thread***

Just to add anyone who has not tried Rift and currently plays wow and is slighly sceptical of Rift , well i've been playing wow for 5 years, have tried lots of other mmo's during that period but kept on going back to wow. 30 levels in to Rift i'm hooked - it's the first MMO that has changed my views on wow even though in it's time wow has been a great mmo. However wow just doesn't offer the diversity and fun Rift is offering me. Go try it Rift it's great fun.

I'm interested , but its still honeymoon time for rift at the moment, I'll wait another 2 or 3 months and if the feeling from people is still positive then I will give it a go.

I think Rift is going to pose a real challenge to WoW.

PvP

I shall reserve judgment on the PvP for now, but I'm getting the horrible feeling that it will be the same out-of-control-of-your-character-fest that Cataclysm became.

My kingdom for an MMO with interesting and balanced large-scale PvP.

Getting the PVE right is an excellent start, and should bring in a fair few players who want to experience the game before getting heavily into it, think back to when WoW came out.

I just have a sneaky feeling about this game. It would be like David and Goliath if this knocked WoW down obviously, but maybe that is what it will take?

To morguk, it's fun and enjoyable with plenty to do. I'm still in what is roughly the starting area for Defiant and there's loads to do.

Hes right though?

Quests in this game are at TBC level maybe even worse as far as being tedius and boring go, it is brutal grinding, rifts are boring, invasions are annoying and pvp is a joke. Im 2 levels from end game and i do want to see what its like as my guildies seem to be having a lot of fun but apparantly theres hardly any content right now.
 
Mixed reviews then. I've only played WoW once about 2 years ago, I got to level 55 and got bored because all my friends had quit by then. I don't have too much MMO experience, and I want to be active in the guild, so hopefully this should be great for me.
 
Well I've been playing the game for hours each day since the headstart period and I'm still only in Gloamwood which is the 2nd region for the Guardian faction. I'm not sure what other folk are expecting the game to deliver but I've been having great fun so far in all respects and there is always something to do. Sure the rifts and invasions can be disruptive but they are easy to avoid if you're flexible about things, or you can get stuck in as intended and work on taking them down with a party/raid.
 
My biggest problem with this game by far is mob density/aggro, so many areas they have left you no room to move without engaging tones of mobs, and they respawn so quick too, i think they intended you to keep grinding them down as you run out of quests around level 48 if you dont.
