Missed the Catalan game unfortunately.

Was disappointed today, but not for the usual reasons. Rovers performance against Warrington was excellent today, barring a couple of errors we should have been much closer and the scoreline is perhaps a little harsh on Rovers. 22-18 would have been fairer, we probably didn't deserve to win, but we deserved a more respectable scoreline, the Rovers squad this year is made of stern stuff and that's arguably our hardest fixture out of the way.

One thing, I didn't see it too clearly but it looked potentially like an elbow from Blake Austin on Joel Tomkins when he was already tackled on the ground. Tomkins then got taken straight to hospital with an extremely severe concussion, including loss of memory. He got a sin bin, but I think could see a ban for that. Must have been quite some elbow force to do that much damage. Very disappointed to lose Joel in the game though, he's a key member of the team.

As is usual, NRL teams are just bigger, stronger and faster than our teams, not particularly more skilful. Their wingers are like our centres, their centres are like our second rowers and so on.

Rovers toiled this weekend for a victory against London. By all accounts one of the worst Rovers performances in years in the first half, but a clinical 20 minute spell in the second half put the game to bed. Got to be better against Salford on the weekend. Both teams will be wanting to win this one and a 3 wins from an opening 4 is a nice return. Joel Tomkins back after concussion but now we lose Greenwood to concussion and Crooks to a back issue.

Why were there only 2 SL games this weekend? Why did all the others not play?

Widnes on their way to administration. That's us wiped out. Would take at least seven years to get anywhere near Super League. Look at Bradford and Toronto...

Feel sorry for you and all the other Widnes fans. Its a bleak situation to be in. I guess it shows just how fragile SL clubs are once relegated. I often think if Salford had lost THAT million pound game then they would be nowhere to be seen right now. There do however appear to be beacons of hope in the Championship, you only have to look at the fantastic gains made by York - exciting times and they are about to get a new ground too.

What's the prognosis for Widnes now then? It all seemed relatively positive and stable a month or so ago, with Gelling still at the club, etc.

Robert Lui is their star player in my mind. He runa the ahow whenever Rovers have played them recently. Decent defensive performance from Rovers to scrape over against Wakey, quite pleased with that! Greenwood out for season with an ACL injury though :(

Gonna be an interesting game! Looking forward to it but cant make it unfortunately as I'm away. Shaun Lunt was a 50:50 to play but he hasn't been picked in the 19. So much looking forward to seeing him back playing. He's had a rough few months and we are in desperate need for a decent hooker to speed up our ptb. Something that has been badly lacking with Lee and Lawler, for as much as they are decent players they aren't Shaun Lunt!

Could be a tight game but I'd hope Rovers are preparing for the Catalan side that beat Warrington and not the one that got smashed by Salford.

Well that's made my weekend a pretty good one! Solid performance from Rovers last night. Looked like world beaters for that first 30 minutes or so, brilliant rugby. Second half dropped away a little bit but we'd more than done enough to win the game. Masoe, Crooks and Hall were superb.

Great to have Shaun Lunt back though, boy have we missed a strong hooking presence. Can enjoy the rest of the weekends games now!

Derby nerves have set in. Will have a few beers tonight whilst watching tonights game. Got my ticket for tomorrow, first away derby I've been to for a few years now and very much looking forwards to it. Sounds like a decent crowd number to be expected too - pushing 20K perhaps.

Hull KR are too good a team to be where they are in the league but to not score against us with 11 men in 10 repeat sets is criminal.

Tell me about it. We just never looked liked scoring then at all. Credit to Wire's defence but that was awful from us. Lineham lucky not to have got a red, looked like he went in with his head aswell!

Tim Sheen's quits with immediate effect :confused:
Not sure it was "quitting", more like replaced!

Tony Smith announced as new coach. Wow. Didn't see this weeks events coming at all. Brave move from Neil Hudgell there. Time will tell if it is a good move, but I am a big fan of Tony Smith from his Warrington days, so who knows.

A bold move though, there's no denying that!

Hull KR will now win the league before Warrington I can see it happening.

Took him a few games to get into the swing of things at Warrington. I am still a big Smith fan.

Always liked the bloke. He always used to make a point of shaking Rovers players hands after a game, win lose or draw. He's a top bloke as may I say, was Sheens, no greater example than offering to pay for Minns mums funeral. A true gent.

Just in time for the visit of Wigan. New coach bounce + general malaise at Wigan should swing it for KR. Beating Wigan is not the coup it was last year and earlier

The club built up an announcement today that turned out to be the extension of contracts for some younger players + the signing of Mitch Clark and Jake Bibby. Not quite what was expected. The club seem to be doing their best to pee their fans off atm

I actually liked Mitch Clarke when he was at Rovers but then he quickly fell out of favour, much like he seemingly did at Cas. Maybe he's a difficult player to manage, who knows, I just have my suspicions that all is not what it appears with Mitch.
