*** Official September 7th Apple Event "Far Out" (18:00 BST) ***

I think I'm going to bite this year and upgrade from my iPhone X to the 14 Pro. They almost had me last year with the ProMotion display but now with the always-on display and everything else it's a compelling upgrade.

I was going to hold out for possible USB-C but will probably charge via MagSafe anyway.

a 128gb pro max for £1199......the world has gone mad. Literally nobody needs to spend anywhere near that on that spec of phone. You can get a 65" oled tv for that or a decent phone and a PS5

For the last two or three years, the iPhone price has stayed roughly the same, in fact I think it's effectively dropped due to the base memory increasing.

Last year I paid £1149 for an iPhone 13 Pro Max with 256Gb. The iPhone 12 Pro Max in 2020 was more expensive at £1199.
This year it's £1309.

Last year I paid £649 for a SS Apple Watch with a sport loop.
This year it's £779 (and the sport loop isn't listed any more).
The Ultra is £849.

One other thing to consider…

I currently have a 128g phone storage which is full. I expect this new phone to last 4 years.

Will 256g still comfortably be enough in this new era to last that long? I’m not sure.

That’s a point for myself, but something to mull over.

Cloud storage is so cheap why not expand on that.

50GB for £79p per month or 200GB for £2.49.

Not sure how I feel. I wasn’t really wow’d by the event. Pricing also seems to be a little on the steep side. Not sure if it’s worthy enough to upgrade from the 12 pro.
