*** Official SONOS Thread ***

I have the Arcana setup like this

Sources
Xbox Series X
Sky Q
PS5

All into a switch

Switch to Arcana.

Output to Sonos beam with surrounds
Output to Samsung Q80 TV.

Works perfect. Both the Xbox and Ps5 now allow the use of DTS and zero lag.

The only single annoyance is now I have to switch the HDMI input on the switch and not as seemless. However minor as rarely do I switch between Xbox and TV Apps.

Also the Arcana allows for the return from the ARC port, so I use all the apps on the TV such as Netflix etc. Sound automatically comes out from the beam etc and the Arcana routes it.

Only solution I found after a lot of research to fix the lag.

My pair of refurb One's arrived yesterday. So far so good!

I can't run true play yet because Sonos are taking an age to update the app for my iPhone 13 pro and even though my Ipad is last years true play still doesn't work. My girlfriend has an 11pro so I'll have to do it with that tonight.

I've ordered the Arcana. Not cheap, but Sky always having sync issues is infuriating. I only use an Apple TV (with no issues) and Sky (or Virgin TV in the future) and if it fixes that I'll be happy enough.

@Matutu can you confirm how you have the HDFury set up please? Is it with a Sky Q box? And which audio out port are you using? I get no signal detected on eARC and using ARC I get no sound.

Edit, just been reading up and I haven't done my homework it seems. There are two outputs, ARC goes to TV and eARC goes to the soundbar. This means that I will need a HDMI switch to run both Sky Q and Apple TV. Since my HDMI cables are buried in the wall, it will take some work. Doh! Guess I better start looking for a HDMI switch.

Thanks, I edited my post above. I guess it doesn’t matter if the TV is ARC or eARC with this box. Any recommendations for a HDMI switch?

I went with Kinivo 3 port switch (from the forest site). Works great only wish the remote wasn’t RF as it doesn’t send the signal through my entertainment centre.
However getting off my butt to press a button is no issue.

Yes this one does. However if you research it a lot of not very reliable. As they never really power off.
SKY Q always works but Xbox does not.

So much mixed information out there but just want some clarification.

I have an original Beam and 2 rear Sonos Ones.

I have a PS5 and want to try a 4k Bluray (ordered a few)

I then remembered last time I tried a bluray, I only received 2.0 audio as DTS isn't supported by Sonos.

Just now I saw an article saying DTS has now been added via an update? Is this correct?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.t3...oundbars-adds-major-dts-surround-sound-option

Only reason I'm asking is because I also found the ps5 won't do HDR10 or Dolby Vision via disc so looked at a dedicated player. But I dont want to go down a rabbit hole if my sonos kit won't support DTS in the first place.

Sorry if that's a bit of a jumble, just after some clarification :D

It will only do the bog standard DTS. They haven't added DTS:HD or DTS:X yet. Most new 4k Blu-ray will use DTS:HD but it should be able to fall back to the standard DTS 5.1.

This seemed positive enough for me.

Then looked a bit deeper and turns out my TV (LG CX) doesn't support DTS even via passthrough. Damn, why is it so confusing :D

So no matter what, with this TV, to PS5, to SONOS set up, I won't get 5.1 DTS on Blu-ray?

I get 5.1 when gaming but then that's not DTS I guess.

So would a dedicated 4k Blu-ray player also have this issue as it would need to pass through the TV etc.

Or if I use optical to the player then that cuts out the passthrough? I currently have the beam etc set up for optical as my old TV wouldn't work with ARC. Then when I got the LG I left it as it was in optical as it worked fine. (I just have a basic optical switcher, 1 port to the TV, 1 To the PC with room for more as I used to have one to a PS4)
