***Official Squad Thread***

I am having mixed feelings, sometimes I am having a blast and sometimes I just die all of the sudden from god knows where...I will play some more to see, maybe I am just too noob :P

lol you cant say a game is bad just because you die all the time lol that is noob haha, I'm noob as well and die a lot but I LOVE the game :)

I've got nearly 300 hours and I still die a lot lol. K/Ds mean nothing. You can be top scorer being a good medic and not killing anyone, but even that's not the point. Sure not every game is magic but when you and your squad successfully defend an objective against the odds, or breach a compound in a sea of smoke and grenades . . that's when this game is awesome. For me anyway.

i agree and getting just 1 kill in this game is more rewarding than 10 kills in bf1, i dont even care about kills in squad, i just love the atmosphere of the game and the way it makes me feel, i absolutely LOVE it, yes ive had some annoying games but the good games make up for it.

its a very rewarding game :)

Not a fan, gave it a good go over 10 hours but can't say it was enjoyable, very little game time during those 10 hours.

Having long runtimes to objective is fine, having a long spawn time is also fine - having both is just ridiculous. I appreciate the type of game it's aiming to be but having so much downtime is extremely dull.

For a game called squad, they also make it next to impossible to be in a squad with your mates, it takes me back 15/16 odd years since the last time I had trouble getting into the same server as people I wanted to play with.

So many bugs, I spent 40 minutes carefully moving into a flank position, finally it paid off, being behind 10 or so people with none of them having a clue on my location, i start unloading and nothing - bullets were hitting the ground below me despite significant clearance. I'm then killed.

Feel free to report those bugs here :)

Unlike most games where the bullets come from the centre of the optics, our bullets come from the barrel. Just because you have a clear shot doesn't mean it will hit. You need to take in account of muzzle clearance. Won't be such of an issue when we implement it our cover system.

Really enjoying this so far I think will be getting this instead of rainbow six, does anyone know why msi afterburner does not work while playing squad? I want to check my computer temps.

K/Ds mean nothing.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, that's not entirely true.

For example:

My positioning, weapon choice and situational awareness all combined to allow me to get that number of kills. Granted, high kills alone won't win a battle. But when those high kills are denying the enemy access to a key area of the battlefield, they become a lot more valuable. It's not all about team score either. You could sit back, miles from the front line and build yourself a nice little FOB, raking in points. Those points aren't what win you the game though.

For the record, that was all infantry combat too.

I'm about 500 hours in and I still have rounds like that. With an organized SL you shouldn't have to run that much as vehicles definitely accelerate movements.

Regarding the engagement of other forces in many cases you won't know how you have been hit but that's what I like about the game. Positioning and use of terrain is everything and something that you can't expect to master in 10 hours, let alone 400.

Didn't explain myself very well, sorry. It's a ticket based game so of course K/D matters, and it still feels good when you get a decent score (blinding score btw, way higher than my best!), but what I mean is there are many other ways to have an awesome round, and that is the difference to a lot of other FPS shooters.

I didn't say I blame the game for having rounds like that :) this doesn't happend in battlefield 4 for me, but I do like this squad game....and I like playing marksman...my fav class for sure, its a good help to give the shock troops some oversight and covering fire. Will play some more and maybe pick it up while its on sale. Is this ever going to come out of alpha or it will be day z all over again ?

As I said in my original post, clearance was fine. Position was fine, I never claimed to have mastered anything - that's not even relevant to this discussion unless I'm missing something?

Fact is, this is an alpha and very much plays like one.

I had a quick game yesterday. There was a good squad leader trying to help everyone and no-one was listening. Medics ran off up front and kept getting killed then when orders came in to go south everyone except me and one other guy went south  He even said "South is downwards people" haha

I will have a few games again when the free weekend is over

It's progressing at a fairly decent rate. I started playing in March or April I think, and it's moved on regularly and substantially since then. As they've now sold an additional 30,000 copies I believe this weekend, I'm fairly confident it will yes.

had another amazing game last night on RIP server, its becoming my best server as I always seem to have a good game when I can join it, I only got a few kills in 1hr odd of gameplay but it still felt amazing!

yeah I should be on at some point tonight :) I tried being medic last night for half a round and it wasn't to bad lol i did make a noob mistake of killing my squad leader though hahaha we entered a building with 3 enemy soldiers in and the SL took them out,i congratulated him on his great gunplay and then noticed he took damage so offered to heal him...i scrolled down to bandage..pushed left mouse button and instead of it changing to the bandage it fired off my weapon killing the squad leader lol

luckily i revived him etc but he wasn't to happy lol i was very apologetic but it was an easy noob mistake to make :)

Same here realy enjoyed the free weekend, I am surprised how well it runs on the i3 6100.

Now i have to buy a headset
