***Official Squad Thread***

Nothing that a add on dlc can't do hehe
And this mentality is what has hampered game development. Why add something that most would deem core content when we can lock it behind a DLC paywall? Squad is doing the right thing; it's Alpha state whilst all core content is still being made, will switch to Beta to focus on optimization then release. Not the ****-take "early access" that most development studios abuse these days.

Indeed. We won't be releasing any DLC that costs money.

Only just picked this up and feel like ive jumped on board at a good time.

For an alpha release the game feels great, many of the core components are there and as mentioned by the devs optimisation will come in beta (cant come soon enough as it brings my 1080ti to tears at times).

Really looking forward to continuously playing and seeing how the game evolves.

One thing that really stood out for me was the sound. Really like the snaps/cracks of the AR's and the pops of distant explosions.

Great fun.

Can't wait for the Brits :)

Think Fallujah isn't too far away and that looks unbelievable, so pretty! More maps to come but also the new damage system for vehicles will be so cool! Also the new TOW missile launcher and weapon emplacement upgrades so lots of goodies to come!

V11 playtest going on tonight from 18.30 UTC to around 00.30-01.30 the password is aremapsbrokenornot

Now as the password suggets, some stuff is broken and some is not. It is still under development and everything you see is possible to change until release.

To download, open Steam Library > Right Click Squad > Properties > BETAS > Enter password and press "check". Select public-testing from the drop down menu.

(If your download does not start, deselect and reselect the branch and/or restart steam).

The build seems stable enough to keep up - We will keep the build live until release, we will continue to push updates to it as we make fixes. This does NOT guarantee stability as one build might suddenly break something. You're free to play it, and host it, on your own "risk".

Happy playing squaddies! AND PLEASE REMEMBER TO CLEAR YOUR CACHE OR YOU WILL HAVE AN UNPLEASANT TIME

Lots of rumbling amongst the PUBG crowd on the unofficial Discord channel about this game.

I haven't got it yet but there is definitely a ground swell starting.

So long the toxic peeps stay away am fine. Squad doesn't need 1 mil active players, it just needs a small percent that want to play it how its designed to be played. Thankfully that has remained true so far.

Fun sponge!

"If you don't want to play properly, you won't be playing at all!" - echoes of unhappy childhoods across the country.

You completely missing the point of "toxic" players.
So by your definition if someone is having fun team killing then they are perfectly fine to carry on? Lol

They is having fun and remaing within the core gameplay is my point.
