***Official Squad Thread***

Being heard by enemy team is great feature, as it was in project reality, like in real war, if your close to a enemy you would hear them and be able to pin point them, or are you on about something else ? i thought you only hear enemy within a certain range of them ?

You currently can only hear the new voice commands from the enemy side if you are close to them. I just don't see a point in it. No other comms in the game are able to be heard by the enemy team so I'm not sure why these are currently.

It's odd seeing the comments from people who don't like the voice call outs. It was used all the time in PR and was a well liked feature. How times change!

Which is a bad thing in my opinion. I know it's a design decision, as they fear it will make people use third party VOIP solutions, but I personally would prefer the 3D VOIP to be truly 3D and audible to all anyway, so I'm glad the new callouts are.

Regardless, hoping to finally have some time this weekend to sit down and play so the timing of the update couldn't be better: )

EDIT: Regarding Discord....can it actually replicate true 3D VOIP? I thought it was just a chat app, like Teamspeak etc, where everyone in the channel can hear you...so it's still technically inferior to in-game VOIP where you ability to speak to someone is based on how close you are to them.

Voip being made audible to all players was tried in PR and it was awful. Most people stopped using voice comms in game entirely and just used 3rd party apps for their own squad chat. It was a complete break down in comms unfortunately.

Enjoy the weekend though. I'm Squadless until Sunday night

@Xcept1
Question: Can the switching fire rate bound to primary key be removed? If you press Key 1 while the primary weapon is out it will change the fire rate. Not too much a problem for someone who uses Key 1
But for myself, I have my primary on scroll up and secondary on scroll down, so if I bring up the map and scroll up to my gun just keeps changing fire rate lol

They is a keybind for changing fire rate so I not sure why the game as a hardcoded key for it?

It's just a little annoyance :D Loving V14

Middle Mose button click is change fire rate by default

Yeah, that is fine and all and is what I would like to use for only that. But like I said above for some reason the game has a hard coded change fire rate linked to Weapon 1 slot.

Next time you in game press your default weapon 1 key and it will change fire rate! It's not that big of an issue if you leave it on default key, but for me, I change my defaults to scroll up and down for primary and secondary weapons.

Got a good few rounds in on Saturday night. I still cant shoot for **** though. Seem to spend most of my time missing completely academic shots. Still, had fun for a couple of hours, V14 feels pretty good so far :)

One gripe I have with this game is that changing the FOV settings affects the weapon model. I have it set to 90 at the moment, but I considered upping it as I think I suffer from not having enough peripheral vision in CQB. But then the weapon model zooms out as well, making optics and ironsights much harder to use. I think squad uses a "true" first person camera, so maybe this is unavoidable. But I get the feeling that having my FOV is the reason I get blindsided so often by enemies I didn't even know were there.

Any idea's why my textures have gone to absolute ****? Doesn't change when I edit any GFX settings, AA, Texture quality etc.

Tried DDU'ing my drivers & installed the latest ones - also cleared the user cache & verified the game files through steam

Have you reset your settings cache lately? Every update it is recommended you do this.

The top image reminds me of playing Tomb Raider in 800x600 in 1996 lol

Try putting everything back up to epic quality.

Tried both with no change, unfortunately - believe it or not, both screenshots were taken on the Epic preset...

Did some googling' and people were suggesting changing everything to Epic then back again, tried it both mid-round and changing/ restarting the game but no dice :(

Tempted to go with the good old nuke/ reinstall option at this point.
