***Official Squad Thread***

You definitely deleted the right cache folder? I know we recently changed from "Squad" to "Squadgame" to maybe you deleted the old folder? There's a "SquadUAT" there too for the public testing branch.

Did some googling' and people were suggesting changing everything to Epic then back again, tried it both mid-round and changing/ restarting the game but no dice :(

Tempted to go with the good old nuke/ reinstall option at this point.

Cheers, that did it - not sure how I wasn't seeing the other Squadgame folder!
 
Hell Let Loose has given me the urge to play Squad again, fired it up last night but haven't the slightest idea what i'm doing.

Anyone recommend any noob friendly discords I could drop onto for it.
 
Ive been back playing a fair bit of Squad lately.

Specifically on the RIP #2 Skirmish server. I know Squad is all about vehicles, but some of the most intense games ive ever had over the last couple of weeks has been on the RIP skirmish server. I just wish it was a bit more popular. For anyone thinking about trying to Squad lead, the skirmish server is perfect to start off with that.

You haven't got tonnes of things to worry about, mainly your squad and your rally point. We worth having a look at the server...
 
Really enjoying Squad, its been my go-to game lately. Version 14 is excellent, the game is starting to feel complete. Can not wait for the next recap just so I can see what is happening around the game.

Interesting... I usually try to get in the RIP #1 server whenever I play - so Skirmish is infantry-only? Might have to give that a try sometime.

Yeah. It's the skirmish layers of all the maps. So, 60v60 with smaller map layouts but perfect size for flanking etc. And the rounds last anywhere from 20 mins to 50 mins usually.

Only logi trucks, transport trucks to worry about. It absolutely bloody brilliant. Just need more people to get it going. Took hours to seed it last night, but once it got going the games were great.

Im going on there to seed it tonight from about 6pm, keep and eye out.

I'll be "Grumps" in game. And IRL.........

Is the crashing at the end of a round before map change a known bug? Couple of us each night seems to crash out at the same time on RIP server when the round has finished and new map about to load up.

Also a feature request I think would help. When you team kill it tells you that you have killed a team player, I think it should also tell you if you been team killed.

I believe a few fixes have been pushed for the end of round crashes (for the next patch) :)
 
Played a bit of Skirmish on the RIP 2 server last night - really enjoyed it!

It was a nice change of pace and a good way to get into the action quickly - felt there was more emphasis on working closely as a Squad, especially moving through the heavily-urbanised areas of certain maps.

Was quite a relief knowing there was no chance of being absolutely obliterated by a Warrior or T-72 as well :D

Truth spoken here ^^^^

We are playing on it now if anyone want to join

There are basic vehicles like logis and transport trucks, and on a few maps there are techies and humvees. There are no tanks, btr's etc etc.

Its imo more fun, more focused and based more on Squad Leader vs Squad Leader tactics without a ******* tank pinning you down.
 
Easy the best-recorded match I have had so far. With this Squad and my own personal score. Am truly loving Squad at this moment. It creates moments you just won't find in any of the competing games in this field.

24 kills with 34 down, might not be much for some of you but I was well and truly behind the lines here.

Ahh ok.

Does it still have 100 man players in skirmish or is it cut down?

Now this sounds more like what i'm after. I've been looking for something like the BF2 of old but with more realism.

That and I only ever have an hour or two for games a few evenings as week, can't commit to 3/4 hour long epics.

If I pick this up in the sale, are you in need of another squad member? :D

This will be right up your street then.

Look for RIP #2 Skirmish in the server browser and if you can't see it check your server filters.

By all means come on in and join my squad mate. The more the merrier.
