It’s down to the wire for the team and our Kickstarter campaign, with only 72 hours to go and just over ($350,000 CAD + $9300 CAD in Paypal) $14,000 CAD to the next stretch goal (The Russians are coming!)

We are in the final sprint to the finish, and all of us on the team and in the Squad community would LOVE to see the counter go as high as possible before the end.

Hey all, I was surprised to actually see the thread this active! I was following the game a few months ago and for some reason completely forgot about it.

Long story short does anyone have any keys for sale/want to go halves on the commander pack? I want to get into the pre-alpha as I don't really want to wait till October to get into the game.

Some people have mentioned they have keys for sale? I'd be happy to Paypal some money over to people or we can Paypal the devs directly half/half?

I was pretty surprised how expensive the alpha versions of the kickstarter were but this game looks like something I'd love to play. I love Red Orchestra but sometimes feel it's a little too reckless.

Anyway, hopefully someone will reply to this before the kickstarter closes :)!
 
I believe quite a few people already bought the commander package on here and will have the pre alpha keys.

I am also very disappointed there hasn't been a peep about BAF :p

The Kickstarter Roundup

With 48 hours to go, Squad has seen US$300,000+ in pledges and over 3700 backers to date. Total pledge rewards of over 5500 keys, with an average pledge for a key of ~US$51 , and over 2700 gamers pledging to join us in Closed Pre-Alpha starting in July.

The dev team is confident a last 24 hour pledge spike will happen, as the community has been spreading the word wide and far for the last month to help bring as many established game communities into Squad as they can with many clans settling the funding of their 10 Key Packs in the final days.


What lies on the road ahead, where do we travel from here?

Russian Forces are entering the fray, with the stretch goal in sight, the development team will accelerate the timeframe for introducing the Russian faction, with the MTLB to be revealed soon, Ural heavy truck in several variants, a wide array of Russian firearms and RPGs, and newly revealed Russian character models are all in production and now all on display, to show off the future basis of Conventional force vs Conventional force game modes in Squad.

Hehe I'm just baiting to get some info out :P

One thing I noticed in videos is that they are on a choppy side, although not surprising being pre alpha footage.
 
I don't know if it's animations still on a clunky side or marketing guy has a slow computer, hopefully they can buy a new one after the KS campaign is over :P
 
Xcept1, would you mind commenting on the sort of performance you experience (so far, I know its early days) and what spec your rig is please? Are we likely to see 60fps during the early phases?
 
Apart from my GPU which I got at the start of the week for a dirty cheap price, my rig is pretty old.

CPU: Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz OC'd to 4.00GHz
Memory: Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB)
GPU: MSI R9 390X

I run it maxed out capped at 60fps (uncapped it can go 120+fps) with the very occasional drop to the mid/high 40's when the server is full and there are 40mm and RPG rounds flying about everywhere.

Unreal Engine 4 is still very early in development and each new update gives us more and more performance. The last one came with some crazy foliage/tree gumpf that increased some peoples fps by 10+ so there will be even more huge bounds in performance.

This is without mentioning the dreaded word "optimization". We all know you just press a button and it does it all for you, right? ;)
