***Official Squad Thread***

It's going to be bridging the ground between the Battlefield and Arma series. Have you ever played the Project Reality mod for BF2? It's still one of the most fun team based games to play. http://www.realitymod.com/. It's being developed by a lot of the guys who worked on that.

This is shaping up to be good fun. All without Arma's desync and rubbish VOIP!

It's been an impressive 24 hours!

In less than 24 hours since launching Squad's Greenlight campaign, we've received over 11,000 unique visits to this page, and over 9200 "Yes" votes to our game. What is more astounding are the statistics, nearly 96% of you said that you wanted to see this game become a reality. It has given everyone involved with the project thus far an incredible boost in morale and drive to continue development!

From the bottom of all of our hearts, thank you, and lets keep fighting for the future of tactical gaming! One day down, many more to go!

To whet people's appetite here's a nice progress shot of one of the maps we have that's further along, Logar Valley.

Good old Muttrah!

It's coming together quite nicely now. The main focus is still getting the infantry fighting nice and tight before moving onto vehicles but it's certainly heading quickly in the right direction.

Last week or so there have been huge strides made with some big features being implemented. It's still quite basic but I'm having so much fun on the testing sessions. Lots of new videos over on the official forums.

Thought I would very quickly answer some questions.

It doesn't play like Arma. At all.

Jack Frags does not have any design input/decisions about the direction of the game. On a personal level, I wasn't happy with how his video came across. At all.

Bluedrake is...special. Not a fan. His "This is like if they took the engine of Battlefield 4 and combined it with the gameplay of ArmA." quote is rather ridiculous.

There will be an element of these random youtube star followers coming on the servers and "ruining" the game. It's a commericial game so it's going be even open to a wider audience than PR. They will join the game and 2 things will happen.

1. They lone wolf it and don't play in a squad. They have an awful time as they will probably be limited to the bog standard rifleman kit. No teamwork = not much fun. They leave and don't play again.

2. They join the server, join a squad and learn how to play the game from the more experienced lot. They realise how bad Battlefield/CoD actually is and live happily ever after on Squad.

In other news, PR looks to be going stand alone very soon with the 1.3 patch!

So all you guys who think "PR plays like Arma" have no excuse not to try it out for yourselves!
