Are there vehicles in the current builds?

PS: what part of Lowestoft are you from? My folks are in Oulton Broad, I had to move away a few years ago as there are no jobs within 60 miles of the place. I was back up in Lowie at the weekend, Hanks on the seafront has closed down !!!> Where do the youth go to nowadays? It was a ghost town Saturday night...

Vehicles are not in the builds that you have guys seen in game but they are in! The main focus is getting the infantry combat spot on before really focusing on the vehicles though.

I think the youth go around Oulton Broad these days, the main town is pretty rubbish now!

I don't think we will be implementing OR any time soon unfortunately. Shouldn't be too difficult to achieve given the tools available. Loads more things to get done first but like TrackIR, it's on the list!
 
That's crap. It is a game at the end of the day and they should let us have a choice of weapons to use, regardless of roles.

Just have to wait and see.

It's a game that has some realism involved so it makes perfect sense how it is currently. Having said that, we've still not decided 100% how we are going to handle enemy weapons...
 
Well the Jack Frags video looked bloody awesome even for a really early Alpha build. The sounds were fantastic, like some of the better Arma 2 sounds that existed.

I haven't gone back to Arma 3 which is a shame but I was silly to think they would do anything to resolve the terrible animations that existed in Arma 2 and the de-sync as far as I know is as bad as ever.

Is the kickstarter finished? Good luck if not, i'm sure it will hit the target required.

The Kickstarter has only been going a couple of days. It finishes on June 27th.

Big Thanks! We hit the ground running thanks to you, there are so many gamers out there looking for a return to the classic tactical FPS, and now we know we are not alone when we decided to start this project.

A little over 40 hours in and we're at 1350 backers and over CAD$130,000 pledged already, we're well on our way to bring our dream of a standalone successor to the beloved Reality Mod to not just all of our friends across the modding communities but also to the wider world of FPS gamers.

With that in mind we'll be updating our FAQ in the coming day, we hope to provide a longer list of answers to the questions that often first come to the mind when finding Squad.

As many of our friends and early followers know, the Squad Dev Team is on our forums everyday talking with the community, we've been at it since we went live in October and we'll continue to do so. We're enjoying seeing people newly interested in Squad posting in the comments section, and we'll try our best to keep up with the conversation, we're excited to see fresh voices from gaming communities outside of our corner of the gaming universe, you're asking the right questions and we're going to plan our development strategies with your insights in mind.

One point we want to emphasize is the scope of combat and the scale of our maps. We're going to preview our WIP Map Kohat, made by veteran mapper AFSoccer on our team, to show off the size we're aiming for on standard size maps, about 4km^2, 1.5 Square miles, to better explain the scope of our 'combined warfare' game design.

Interesting side effect of having had over 300,000 people play our Mod over the last decade, lots of them went into the video game industry, including many writers, video content creators and even owners of press sites, Check out our press kit at press.joinsquad.com and please do reach out to the team.

In PR news, the master server has been taken down today. We could be looking at 1.3 sometime tonight...If you're wondering what sort of gameplay/assets Squad will be aiming for then get it downloaded...it's going to be Standalone!

Taken from references we’ve received from veterans of the recent combat theaters, (thanks guys for all the help!), fieldcraft in the US military is an art of war not often represented properly in modern FPS games, so we present our vision of these guys’ trusted firearms during their tours overseas.

The Squad Development team and their mod fans didn't leave the Battlefield series, we didn't leave the tactical FPS genre, we didn't agree to the casualization of the genre and the shutting off of modding and engine access to existing franchises. This left the core of Offworld Industries and our fanbase in the cold, with no choice but to strike out on our own and bring a reactionary evolution to the industry and spearhead a return to the classic meaning of tactical FPS gaming to the PC gaming world. As a completely indie studio we ask for your help today, to pledge support for Squad's Kickstarter and give the developers of Squad a show of support in our journey to bring the genre back to the people.
