Still using Windows 8?

Not many have posted the issue on Squad forums, but seems related to a Windows 7/8/8.1 update.

On Windows 10 here and game loads up fine?

Sure, this is the most recent

I had exactly the same problem last night and had to completely reinstall Squad to get it to work again.

I tried deleting the profile data as well in Appdata/Local/Squad.

As you it worked fine on Tuesday night and then didn't work at all on Wednesday....

EDIT: I'm on Windows 10

Im on windows 7, auto updates have been turned off for years. I cloned my hdd back a week to when it definately worked and no change.
Tried reinstalling c++ redistribution 2013 & 2015
Tried removing squad local appdata (was cleared with os clone anyway)

It looks like it could be an EAC issue. I've pinged the EAC chap over on the official forums.

Makes sense, thanks. I did that random anti cheat installer when i have never even seen it before. Whats wrong with VAC? - and why does it only affect certain people?

We also use VAC matey. EAC just lets us keep on top of things quicker as we all know how long it takes VAC to do anything.

Latest word from the EAC guy:
Hi guys,

When the loading bar completes and you're waiting for the game to show up, could you check if you can see in Task Manager a Squad.exe process? And if it's memory usage is increasing (loading), or if it's stuck on the same memory usage for long time and nothing happens?

If validating the game's local cache in Steam doesn't fix this now, could you add me in Steam Friends (https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197999579793) for looking into it further? That way we can get it fixed for you asap, and for everyone else affected of the same cause. Thanks!

Cheers, will add him/her later.

Squad.exe process does appear and memory increases but after about 5-10 seconds it closes instead of increasing and the game opening

I think I have got it working!

Steps taken;
Uninstall EAC running as admin in Squad\EasyAntiCheat
Reinsatll EAC as admin

Open Steam client - you need to open Steam as running the exe or launcher just bins the process at ~800mb

run squad_launcher.exe - Watch the Squad process open and continue past 800Mb, then the game should open.

Running from Steam doesnt even load start the process. Opening Squad.exe directly or via steam either instantly closes the process or does not start at all

To me this shows that an issue with the Squad.exe relating to how it accesses EasyAntiCheat. I'll post this on the Steam forums too

EAC just pushed an update

Hi guys,

Sorry about the delay on this. We have now pushed a new anti-cheat update live, please check if the problem is now resolved for you.

If you'd still encounter the same or another error, please, let us know and we will work to fix it asap. Thanks!

How come when I set forced AA & AF in Nvidia control panel it still doesnt work in game? 90fps on training map whether I set forced 8xAA & 16XAF or not. Does the game just not work at all with Antialiasing? forced or menu

Good to see this selling well, over 130k copies sold according to Steam Spy. Remember reading somewhere that they would need around $3m to develop this properly so looks well on track for that and beyond once this becomes more polished and accessible to a more mainstream gamer.
