official Transformers 3 Thread ere

I found the second one soooo disapointing - but only because the trailer convinced me they were going to lift some of the weird sci-fi come spiritual stuff from the UK Marvel Comic. No such luck. None of that stuff and it was generally dreadful.

Reviews look better for this one so far. I'll probably see it.

should be going to see this tonight depending if we can be arsed later tonight after work.

I think transformers films are brill! Switch your brain off and enjoy kind of film.

Early reviews are not good, they seem to have come up will all kinds of excuses as to why the last film sucked wonder what they'll come up with this time?

Here's my quick review without spoilers after seeing it tonight.

CGI, Music - awesome simply stunning...

Story - Was more of 'Cartoon series' story which pleased me

Personally I think it was the best of the three... but the story has so many holes it just disappointed me some what... and there are a few WTF moments.

If you want what I think is a very good review from a Transformers fan rather than a media reporter check out this thread over at Sibertron forums *** DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE AND DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS, THIS THREAD WILL SPOIL THE WHOLE MOVIE AND GIVE AWAY MAJOR PLOT POINTS ***

It was pretty bland if I'm honest. I've seen much much better films. It was great I suppose for the TF fan boys but the content was poor and it relied purely on CGI. I think the 1st is still the best.

3D made it sucky. It will be much better to view graphically in 2D when it's available.

Just come back from watching it.

I enjoyed it and thought it was on a par with the first and better than the second. I especially enjoyed the battle scenes, mainly because the camera work wasn't all close ups and quick cuts. Some decent panning and wide shots which made the fights pretty epic. Some of the intro parts of the film were very clever aswell.

The story, whilst simple to follow, was made more complex with having to write in everyone from the first films, at least that's how it came across to me and probably made it longer than it needed to be with some "eh?" moments. But then there were some parts where you thought "oh cool" and then story moves away from it and left you wishing they had gone deeper with it. Typical Michael Bay maybe?

It was never boring though and the humour wasn't over the top or out of place uinlike ROTF.

Overall a solid 8/10 for entertainment. I'll be adding this to my Blu Ray collection for sure.

Edit: Oh and no point in watching in 3D. Pointless extra expense that wouldn't add anything to the film that I could see. I saw it in 2D.

Just saw it and it was awful. That actress that replaced Megan Fox was bad very bad, in my opinion it was contempt for the audience that made them cast her. They must have known she couldnt act but cast her because Micheal Bay said so and they know all the audience wants is the sparkly sparkles.

Plot was complete predictable rubbish written and done before. OMG they've lost I'm going to cry, omg they havent, omg they've lost again, omg dont kill him, I'm gonna cry, Omg they saved him, thank you I'm happy now. The plot doesnt know what it wants or where it wants to go.

It had the usual Micheal Bay obsession with the Military. Also this strange obsession with authority figures that appear exactly the same in the other films. Their all go away dont interfere, and then lets do exactly what they want then oh no they betrayed us damn we are so stupid, please help us now. There's no real time for the characters and yet it has tons of pointless character scenes.

On the plus side the action did look quite good the 3D and the smashing up of things was quite impressive. Although what happened was predictable. You know the bad guys beat up the good guys a bit and trash the city, then the good guys come back and suddenly tear through the bad guys like paper to get the end over quickly with.

It was ok - if it didnt have Transformers in it I wouldnt have enjoyed it to be fair. Better than the second but that isnt hard...

Its a Micheal Bay film with robot action in it - its never going to be anything but shallow and predictable with decent fight scenes and over the top characterisations - its popcorn fodder...

ps3ud0

It should have been a lot shorter. There were parts in there that just didn't need to be in there as well as a lot of really childish humour.

It's like Bay can't make up his mind whether it's going to be a serious film or a childish one. Maybe he just has an overly american sense of humour, maybe both. But because of this the film seems to hover in a sort of limbo where you're either thinking it's gotten too serious pretty quick or you get into the action and they spend 10 minutes acting like loons on camera and you wish they'd just hurry along with the OTT "child pleasers" (that sounds wrong, i know).

The CGI was really good though and they've learned from the previous films that the upclose camera action doesn't work well with this kind of film.

Theres also the slight issue with the main storyline. If megatron was really there for the reason indicated by this film then his pursuits in the previous films don't make any sense, or at the very least would have been in the very back of his mind given the new storyline in this film.

The new girl was a bit "meh" too. At least with fox she was integrated in as being the hottie from high school that wasn't interested but eventually whitwicky won her over. That had kind of a storyline to it and it progressed. The new girl was just sort of landed on you with a literal 1 minute "afterthought" backstory to get some eye candy in there from the very beginning.

It was good, don't get me wrong. I enjoyed it and i'm glad i went to see it. I thought the 3d was pretty good, very similar to avatar in that it was there but wasn't over the top. I just think they could have chopped a few bits, dropped some characters and made a decision on serious vs silly to make a more coherent film that lasted 2 hours instead of dragging on for quite that long in such an up and down fashion.

That said it was better than the second one and maybe on par with the first.

The film was rubbish and soulless. I couldn't care for anybody in the film. The special effects are ok but its nothing new and cannot carry the film on this alone like the other two.

3/10

Seems like mixed reviews here. I watched it yesterday in 3D and this is what i think.

Yea the movie went on too long, by the time the good bits come on screen my bum was numb! Made me enjoy it less, but that's just me :p

The film was good, i enjoyed it a lot and the action / cgi was more impressive than the other two films. It is worth seeing this in 3D because some scenes wont be the same in 2D. (Like the first scene in the house lol) Also a lot of footage on the moon made you feel like you are walking on the moon, i felt like reaching out and touching the rocks. It is shot really clever and well worth seeing in 3D :)

In the trailer where you see the big robot crushing his way up the big tower and they are all falling through it? That bit is awesome in 3D, it makes you feel like your in the building and falling with them

Overall, a good no brainer action film in my eyes. You can sit back and enjoy the visual feast of CGI / action / explosions and robots which leave you with a smile on your face. Money well spent in my eyes, 7.5/10.
