I agree with this. Really like the first one, My gf fell asleep on my shoulder lol
 
It was fine for a walk in, turn off brain and watch type film - no storyline but just lots of big explosions and some pretty nice CGI - worth seeing in 3D :)

Was a little blurry during fast moving scenes though but I didn't come out with a headache unlike Avatar!
 
Watched this today, First off there was a lot of scenes that could have been cut out as it felt WAY too long and ending was a bit sudden.
I am not a big fan of the comic relief (Sam's parents) i just didn’t see why they where there also not a fan of the Chinese guy from the hangover, can’t stand him.
There was loads of stupid, silly, pointless and strange jokes going on, i know it’s a 12 but still, he used to be good at the comedy back in the day (Armageddon) but he just went OTT in this. Talking about Armageddon it seems that he is reusing the music, Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith! Come on Bay

Apart from the negative, the FX where good and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked amazing overall it wasn’t that bad.

Film was too long - felt it could've been cut...drop the parents for a start. Also some of the small bots again were too comical...and the CIA woman was just not needed - too many characters. Scenes seem to cut to action bit then quiet scene, then action bit then quiet scene - felt jumpy in places. CGI was impressive.

Felt like a combination of 1&2 put together...I still like the 1st movie and I'm happy with that.

SPOILERS AND A HEADSCRATCHER

Wash from Serenity is in it playing a schizo German assistant.

Optimus Prime gets his trailer at last!

Soundwave speaks and sounds just like the cartoon voice ;)

Quite a few Star Trek references - even the famous Wrath of Khan quote spoken by Nimoy.

How come Sentinal Prime (voiced by Leonard Nimoy) has parts like a red firetruck on the Moon, before he's even visited Earth to copy that form? I think you see him during a flashback with wheels on and is coloured red before his awakening. Need to check that one but may not watch it again anytime soon.

Transformer movies are just Pop Corn movies nothing more, nothing less. I loved it as I can just switch of brain and enjoy it. Yes its full of cheese moments, plot wholes, bad acting but come on if you thought you where going to see anything more than mindless fun then your the deluded sort of person that thinks he's going to find Love and Happiness in a Thailand bride :D

I think all the lines from Leonard were from Star Trek I think they just wanted to save money or couldnt be bothered to write a new script.

Would have been better to have him say a line from the cartoon movie. "I'll rip out your optics" or something like that. Good proper nods to the original - the first movie boiled my wee at the slaps in the face to the original (driving through the porsche garage, having a Dam scene but no fighting)

And onto my point that confused me from minute 1.

If Sentinel Prime made a deal with Megatron when they left Cybertron, and that was always the plan, then... well..
WHAT WAS THE POINT IN THE FIRST TWO FILMS?.

That is all.

This. It's not trying to go for an Oscar and is quite self deprecating. I had fun watching this.

^^ it is a fantasy action film based on transforming robots....it does not have to make sense or have any point as long as it delivers on great action. Not defending it here just pointing out the facts plus the viewers seem to like it considering 1&2 grossed $1.5bn world wide so far. For me, plot 0/10 action 10/10 overall cinema vfm 10/10.

off topic and not relating to you, I find it amusing loads of the fans of the original series still get well wound up by the bay films and lack of continuity considering this is something which the original cartoon (+1980's film) and comics lacked where they jumped all over the place.
 
I'm aware of what it is, there's no need to be so condescending.

Whatever it is, it doesn't make my question invalid. The plot of this film makes no sense given the previous two. This would be fine if it was a stand alone movie, but it wasn't, it was clearly a continuation of the series. Throwaway movie or not, the entire subject was offensive. The attitude that "it's ok, we don't need to make any sense with this and people who care about it are idiots anyway" is really not something I can see justification for, and i'm not wrong for pulling it up, whatever you may feel on the subject.
 
Saw this tonight. The effects were great and enjoyed most of it in 3D... mostly the slowmo stuff and when the soldiers were going into the city.

The rest of it can suck my **** though. Not a patch on the first movie. Possibly a bit better than the second though.
 
7/10 for me.

here's why.

i had very low expectations for this movie and only saw it because my wife and dad wanted to see it.

anyways this would have gotten a 8/10 if they cut an hour of it away as the first hour of the movie was pointless.

towards the middle it became too ****ing predictable and then the last action sequence i enjoyed and thought it was sensational and saved the movie for me.

the last epic battle must have lasted an hour constantly! it was sensational and epic! my heart was pumping throughout.

the dialog and storyline is a bit better then the 2nd one but the crap jokes and terrible acting let it down a bit.

In a nutshell. get this on blu ray, fast forward it to the last battle and enjoy the ride.

I didn't like the first move originally, but have coem to appreciate it more

The second film was appaling. I would give it 3/10

This was a little better, but only a little. 4/10.

Stuff just made no sense at all. I would say more but I would start ranting.

So even after not rating the first one, you went to see the second, which you also didnt rate.
Then, even after not liking the first two, you went to see this one?

See, what happens when I dont like something, I dont watch it.
 
Can I also just add, its a childrens film about house sized robots kicking each other in the face, why are people judging like an adult orientated film?

My son will think it is the best movie to of ever graced the cinema when he goes to see it, and he is 12.
I will sit through it and probably be a bit bored, but Its not aimed at me.
