**Official Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Thread**

Well, finished on Hard last night, god how annoying is the last battle, I must have died 20 times :(

Now Crushing to go but seeing how much I died at Hard I am hoping I don't throw the controller across the room :o

How is Crushing different to Hard, is it much harder?

Im finding it well hard on crushing a lot harder than hard for me due to how quickly you die .
Dont help that all the enemy,s seam to have aim bot with the .45 im just wondering how much this game in total due to breaking a few pads :D

Im making better progress by working round the areas stealth killing a few before i go in all guns blazing and try to let as many baddie,s group together before i throw grenades at them , sometimes it works :)

It's... different. Some sections are much harder, but others seemed easier. For example in Hard i also died against the last boss several times, but on crushing i breezed through on my first go, but then conversely on the train i don't think i died at all in Hard but in Crushing i struggled.

You take MUCH less damage before you die, literally one burst of M4 fire can be enough to kill you sometimes. But that's easy to adapt to, you just learn to be more careful. The AI is more aggressive but then that means they present more opportunities to get a good shot in at them.

Ultimately it's hard, but not exactly Killzone 2 hard so it's more than doable. If you know how to approach each area it makes a big difference, i've got a tactic for pretty much every area other than the dig site near the beginning so feel free to message me if you get stuck. As stella said, if you can use stealth, do so, some areas go from being near impossible to a breeze if you stealth enough guys. One example would be the entrance to *the special place* (before you know it's *special place*), you can actually bypass the enemies completely by running past them when they're 'distracted'.

Looks like stategy, cover and stealth are key.

Did you use blindfire at all, or do you always commit and take a shot?

Is melee combat affected between hard and crushing?

Is it recommended doing a "normal" playthrough, or jump straight in on hard?

Just playing through Uncharted1 for the 3rd time (1st no trophys, 2nd normal, 3rd hard)

Not sure I can be bothered to replay the second game as much :(

Also, can we keep the spoilers for the other thread.

EVH - my favourite playthrough was on Hard, however that could have been down to the fact that i knew better where to go. The difficulty felt spot on for me, but i love a challenge.

Dutch guy - good question. The hand to hand is actually affected, the timing of the triangle press is actually much more strict in crushing. Button mashing doesn't work so well any more. Blind fire is essential in some places in crushing, especially against shotgun enemies as if they get close it's a one hit kill so you want to avoid presenting a target.

On normal I hardly used blind fire but on hard I died a few times when I was foolish enough to try to take a shot when a shotgun enemy was close.
I guess I just have to try Crushing and see how it goes.

Do you also have some tips on how to get the Steel Fist Master and Expert trophies?

Fool-proof way of getting them is to load 'the dig' on very easy. When you're in the building and sullys up top just run up to guys, shoot them once in the leg and then punch them, 99% of the time this will take them down with one punch thus netting you the trophy in less than 5 mins.

Not sure if it's the same in UC2 but in UC1 you only had to blind-fire and punch someone to kill them in 1 hit.

I think it is a bit strange, I have not tried to get these trophies yet but after looking at the statistics I was surprised to see I already had 17 'Steel Fist kills' done.

So I think that it doesn't matter how you shoot them as long as the killing blow is with your fists.

I remember from UC1 that shooting once without aiming and punching them straight after worked, I assume it also works on UC2, so I will try this on very easy CH4

I dont play the MP because the loading times put me off, pure and simple. Takes ages to matchmake then load then when you finish it kicks you back to the main menu again - cba with it tbh

You see now i dont mind waiting a bit , gives us guys some time for some sort of tactics :)
The matchmaking can take awhile but i have found that if you party up 5 players you seem to get a game quicker .
Also i only play deathmatch when speaking to a few friends on headset makes it more intresting and dam site easier to get the people running round as a bag of bones :)

Loving the multiplayer side of things so far just finding some of these boosters are really gash :(

Me and stellasuppa will be online in the next 30-40 mins playing co-op. May need a 3rd person, either with a headset, or the ability to follow orders from our headsets!!

Polishing the AK47 now ;)
Like RP2000 says if you would like to do some survival send one of us a message and you can join up with us :)

Just completed this :)

Loved every second of this game and unlike most games this has a genuine replay factor to the single player game, so many of the levels were played out at such a fast pace you just didn't get a chance to appreciate the sheer brilliance of them first time round so I'll definitely be going through it again at some point (I'm off to play through Uncharted 1 again first though)

My only gripe with this game is during hetic gun fights (the end boss being a prime example) the camera doesn't help you out with me finding myself stuck between a wall and my enemy numerous times but it's only a small thing.

I thought Batman AA was a brilliant game (and it still is dont get me wrong) but this easily tops it in every way possible.

Just a brilliant brilliant game, cant wait till Uncharted 3 :)

anyone having freezing issues?

My mate at work says his is freezing a lot on this and fifa10?
Brand new 2 week old slim

I thaught it might be the firmware so am bringing in the new one on a usb stick as he has no net.

Think he has already exchanged a slim because of freezing and this one is doing the same
